Michelin Star Restaurants

Atempo in Barcelona last night. Chef also has Angle 2* (been there and it’s top) and Abac 3* in the city.

16 dishes in total I think, was definitely losing count. For overall experience, it’s up there with the best Michelin stars I’ve done, including a three and a fair few twos.

Dare we ask how much the evening cost including drinks ?

Just a shade over £300 - not the cheapest, not the dearest either considering some of the produce and how generous it all was.

Bottle of white, glass of red each, glass of dessert wine each (plus a few additional tasters from the lovely front of house fella, including a sweet wine from 1888 which was like nowt I’ve ever had before or probably ever will again).

Over in Windermere for the week again.

We ate at Henrock again last night which was as good as the last time week were there.

Today, we’d booked in to the Forest side at grassmere following a recommendation on here. One Michelin star at the wife (no) booked us in for lunch on an offer she saw on Instagram. It was £45 pp for a four course tasting menu which was discounted from the normal £55.

Honestly the best food and experience we’ve had so far. The room was light and airy over looking the garden, the background music was just a normal playlist you’d hear in a lot of restaurants which was different for a restaurant of this standard. The food though was absolutely tremendous. From the ‘snacks’ as they called them, canapés elsewhere, through each course. I would have easily paid a lot more than the normal price of £55 for what we had.

Already booked up for when we’re back over here later this year.

Drunken duck for lunch tomorrow that never disappoints. Then back to the Henrock for lunch in the bar on Thursday.

Doing helvellyn on Tuesday with the spaniel from Thirlmere. It’ll be my 13th wainwright and highest.

First two days just had the spaniel and Labrador up and around orrest head for around 5 miles as that’s the labs limit.

Certainly is when you’re talking now £250 pp for a lunch taster

Email quotes “We are committed to supporting the producers and small-scale suppliers we work with, all of which have been hit hard by soaring prices whilst recovering from a period of severely disrupted trading. Prices have gone up, but we won't compromise on quality, and we continue to stand by them.”

coincides with the third Michelin star👀
That’s an awful lot of money for lunch!! They should honour the original booking no excuses. Think it would spoil my day tbh as I’d feel aggrieved. Hope you enjoy it, I’m sure you don’t get 3 stars for nowt 👍

I’d make the most of it. People who own it are hated around there for what they have done to the pub.

But the “Pub” was losing money as it only had a handful of regulars, it’s a bit like an injured Sunderland player, gets better and more popular the longer it’s unavailable.

I’m booked in at Adam Handlings Loch and The Tyne in Old Windsor tonight.

The Raby Hunt has similar issues with the villagers there because of parking and delivery trucks etc.

They mustn't have used it very often as everytime I've been I think I've only seen a few people in the pub once who weren't there for the restaurant and that was when they first opened.

Yet it had survived for 200 years and survived lockdown.

They should just be honest and say it was always the plan and they purely wanted the location, not say they were going to do all sorts for the community and then do the opposite.

"Aye you can come in the pub for a few hours a day but you can't have food anymore because that's what the restaurant is for oh and fuck off if you think you're sitting in the beer garden".

Its their business and they can do as they wish, they just could've been more honest.

"No you cant have a £10 Sunday Roast but if you go in the next room you can pay £100 for a bit pate on toast"
