England v India 5th Test, Edgbaston (1st July) Match Thread

Undecided, they keep picking him. Who would you prefer?
Couldn't say mate . Not sure I go for this swing from the hip Butler stuff despite the new ethos and to be fair I don't follow county cricket enough to know who the up and comings are . Think we've burned Burns and Sibley for the foreseeable give someone a shot who might surprise us . We're getting nothing out of the opener anyway so it's a shot to nowt , especially if pope keeps improving at 3

Good shout. This being a one off test they are giving Crawley, what must be his last chance this summer

then we have a months gap until we play the saffers. 100 ball stuff and the 50 over cup, so no CC games for anyone to put themselves forward

all to be seen though

To be fair, Brook was playing CC regularly and decided against pushing him in against NZ so how much that comes into their thinking is up in the air. YJB hadn't played red ball for months yet went straight in, the right decision in the end. Same point.

Agreed. If, when Crawley is out twice in the slips this test and is not sidelined for the saffers, then I don’t know how anyone can be dropped unless they are injured

brook may become the new leach as a professional bottle carrier

I think Brook may get a chance v the Saffers.
