I just tell people I'm a Sanddancer now, even though they won't know what that is. They've slowly but surely destroyed any regional pride in being a geordie over the last 30 years. And now it's synonymous with systematic murder, rape, genocide and paedophilia.

If I knew someone who was going into business with a mass murderer, I would tell them they shouldn’t do it, and would think less of them if they did.

I wouldn’t expect to have to demonstrate a long history of publicly condemning mass murderers, and I wouldn’t really care if the person in question pointed to loads of other murky business practices that had happened around the world.
