Desperate to show they've spent more than they have. Apart from Bruno, which time will tell, all very underwhelming when you're expecting Haaland, Newmarket, Mbappe & Messi to be weighing in. This takeover is a load of smokescreen bullshit. They be going crackers if Ashley had aligned this lot.
That Bruno deal was outstanding

For Lyon

finding an under appreciated manager is much more ambitious than just signing up another tsandard manager
He is the very definition of "another standard manager". Good long spell with Bournemouth under entirely different circumstances that came to a sticky end before any bigger club thought he might be able to step up.
If that's the profile they think they need(and it isn't) they'd have been better off with Potter (and it turns out Conte was available anyway)
The fact he was out of work a long time and sweating like a 52 plate transit on an MOT ramp was the deciding factor. He's far more malleable than a manager with options.
At best he'll do for them what Mark Hughes did for City; two seasons stability while the rest of the organisation develops.

Although the PIF have a controlling interest I don't particularly believe they are in it to make mega-bucks....they already have them.
This is an opportunity to make Newcastle United one of the biggest clubs in the World and for more global exposure for Saudi Arabia.
Some will call that 'Sportswashing' but I don't particularly care.
Who are we to preach to anybody about human rights and other States' laws when we cannot even get our own house in order.

This comment from one of them, Bazoox or some f***ing idiot, jesus f***ing wept.
Ah so we are as bad as the Saudis now ? Would love to see you lot fuck off and live there and see if you feel the same way ? Barbaric savages who hate the west and all it represents ! And that includes the Orcs that cow tow to them now in the hope they throw unlimited cash at their team (couldn’t give a fuck about cash in the reejun in truth)
They're an absolute embarrassment to the North East.
Always have been this has just confirmed what most knew already

Oh my god! The denial is incredible, the historical re-writes are worse than 1984 - you had songs about all the world's top players cleaning your boots that you all liked and shared, and yet now 'no one expected' that level of player. Mugged of by murdering Arabs, it's starting to sink in now for you all.
Bring back that lads AV who got banned of them chanting that song.

Unfair I say

The latest from twitter is they have convinced themselves that KLDs Mam allowing Abu Dhabi to invest in one of her businesses is exactly the same as them being owned by a bloke who stones and beheads people, murders and chops people up and helps terrorists set up 9-11.

100% agree

He's a f***ing nonce him. Thick as a castle wall. He's going to look even more foolish when it sinks in the takeover isn't what they thought.

That's the lad haha I searched to tag but didn't think to put in a space

No, I'm capable of reading and comprehension, thanks.

If people's attention span is so low that they choose to get wound up by the 'premise' of an article, without checking either the source (a small twitter account whose bio is 'Drunken antics, dressing room squabbles and everything else BBC Sport won’t touch with a bargepole') or reading the article, I think they would be better served by doing one of those things before laying into the OP.
I think yay're a bit of a gonk gettin ya piss stained knickers in a twist ower nowt.

If Mike Ashley was still in charge and had appointed Eddie Howe as manager, signed Dan Burn, Chris Wood, Matt Targett and Nick Pope there would be no windows left in the local Sports Direct store.

Fact.
Ashley wouldn’t have bought them unless he sold one of the CBs, Wilson, Lewis, and Dubravka. At least you’re right on the windows part if the above happened

Why those 2? Potter’s already at a good and steadily growing club (which Newcastle aims to be in 1-2 years). Conte is (deservedly so) hungry for trophies. Both of them are not suitable for this phase of Newcastle’s project

Any ambitious confident manager would leave Brighton for Newcastle. Brighton are an academic exercise in football management much like Bournemouth. No expectations, no pressure.
Newcastle, for all the justified mockery, are a big club where results matter.
While they were signing Howe, Conte would have been talking to Spurs. Amanda could've gone straight to the top tier but she didn't.
