To be fair, and I do try to be fair, recruitment is probably down to North, otherwise what the f#ck is he paid for. Coaching and team selection is Franklin's remit. All the best to him, the good lord knows we’re due a bit of success on the field.
If he’s a failure it’ll all be James Franklin’s fault. If he succeeds it’ll be down to someone else.

Well we still didn't win so it's probably still reasonable to question his signing. With Crawshaw injured we probably don't have anyone other than Bushnell to step up. The salient question remains, why haven't we any youngsters coming through after 4 years of Franklin?Oh I’m well aware of that, in fairness.
But lets see whether he’s a success or not and who gets the blame if he isn’t
It’s only about a fortnight since folk were whinging like bitches about us signing Ravindra for one game instead of throwing a young’un in. They quickly fell silent…

It is a shocking indictment, but that is more John Windows’ remit, is it not? I mentioned elsewhere, the wonders that man has worked at this club means he’s got plenty left in the bank - but perhaps it’s also a nod to why we aren’t just throwing all these kids in willy nilly….? Could it be that (as I alluded to) they aren’t ready?
The financial constraints placed on the club by FTECB hit all aspects of the club and it was highlighted at the time that the academy would have to be quite drastically cut to accommodate this.
Many will remember that on top of the financial and personnel cuts, the club pulled the Academy XI out of the NEPL.
None of those things were decided or acted upon by James Franklin.
I can’t quite believe that I seem to be the only one putting two and two together on all of those factors. It’s no surprise whatsoever that we’ve had a bit of a drought on the youth development/progression in the 5 years after those cuts.
It’s hardly rocket surgery.

If you wish to interpret it as satire feel free to do so the fact is we didn't win. If you can explain to me why we are no longer producing Academy products I'd welcome your input. You certainly appear to have been consistently ignoring the fact. So be forthcoming on this issue and we can finally put this rhetoric to bed-which academy players have come through during Franklin's tenure?I really hope that’s satire
Ha’way Parky, I’ve literally just explained in a fairly detailed manner why that is likely to be the case. If you’re just going to flagrantly ignore what I’m saying (and what you’re quoting) what’s the point of continuing here?

As I've posted on another thread it is my understanding that academy funding is ringfenced and would not be impacted by the sanctions. Not for the first time we'll agree to disagree.Mate, you’ve ignored my ‘input’ on this issue 3 (THREE) times now.
I’m not really sure how much more I can do to make you see my fairly detailed explanation as to why.
But here it is again for the FOURTH time:

John Windows has done an excellent job for 20 years at least. A disciple of Geoff Cook.
Main difficulty is none of us have much idea of the true picture at Durham such is their lack of communication with members.
Bostock is quoted as financial position is robust yet North appeared to contradict that on SkyTV yesterday.
I haven't got a clue about The true financial picture at Durham. Bostock has been quoted that the financial position is healthy,on target to be debt free by 2024. Very few counties could claim that yet North appeared to contradict that on SkyTV yesterday.

These are great debates. Better than reading the press
DefinitelyDepends how you take it really - North too said the finances were in good health, but he did admit that we’re nowhere near the salary cap and it seems you’ve taken that the same way that I did, that the reason why is because we can’t afford to get near it.
Everything else I fully agree with.
Better than PMQ’s and QT put together marra![]()
