Craft Beer

I like a good pint of icey cold shit lager when I’m abroad like.
It’s better than drinking the water tbf.

When I was last all inclusive in the Dominican the ElPresidente lager was poison. But sharp got the taste.

Only problem was it was served in tiny little plastic glasses, like 200ml or something. Bought a flower vase at the gift shop over the road, about a pint and a half.

They refused to fill it up. Mind, I wasn’t that easily put off.

“No no. No fill up señor…”
“Ok… ok. 7 beers please. “

They filled it up for me after a day or two  proper Brian potter

Anyway, Amundsen tap take over at FCBC this weekend, looking forward to it.

I'm in America and the selection of ipa and pale ales is incredible. $12 for 6 small cans of local craft breweries is decent as well. Shame the exchange rate is a killer for everything else

Can anybody recommend which supermarket is best for craft fridge fillers? Looking to get some in but not sure where to go.

I'd say the big 4 - ASDA, TESCO, Morrisons and Sainsbury's all have a pretty decent range. I follow a couple of suppliers on instagram so you can see what they're going to be stocking next

Thanks for the reply. I normally try Morrisons but fancied a change, might just flip a coin if there's not really much in it

Off to the Craft Beer festival in Liverpool this evening, it's not what I tend to drink normally but there's some good breweries there including Brew York and Vaux.

What’s already been said. Big 4.

A year ago I’d have said Tesco & Morrisons were way ahead of Sainsburys & Asda, but they’ve caught up, a bit. Tesco seemed to have reduced their Newcastle Road range recently too. Either way, you’ll get plenty of choice from them.

Northern Monk and Verdant are two of my favourites. Vocation are normally pretty good too.

Vocation are Championship level compared to Beak, Verdant, Vaux and Pomona Island if you want pales and IPAs.

My favourite on that list is probably Duration, but then I'm a massive farmhouse, mixed-ferm funk fan.

I was supposed to be working at Beak's beer festival next weekend in Lewes but the rail strike has killed that. Shame really, was a great lineup.

I agree but I have never had a Vocation I didn’t like, they don’t blow your mind but are never undrinkable.

Pomona Island are very good. Especially if you like pales. Verdant also excellent.

Thornbridge are a bit hit and miss, but middle of the road and risk free!

Love Lane are scouse and not great.

I didnt realise that Bundobust were calling themselves a brewer these days.

Ta everyone, looking forward to it like. I'll try and remember what I have and report back although I'm no expert as you can probably tell.

It's.at.Black Lodge brewery which is hit and miss from what I've tried in The Grapes.
