So you’re admitting we’re not playing to his strengths yet bypassing him in favour of long balls to Wood. Wait until we ARE playing through Bruno, then you’ll see the impact he’ll have. He’s a true box to box midfielder, best I’ve seen since Bryan Robson.
Get your stat machine out and bring up his numbers for yards covered per game. While you’re there check his goals per game versus what he managed at Lyon. Might not have had as many touches but he certainly had more touches into the back of the net.
Deluded

Done to death Keith however.... We gained entry because the rules allowed it. We did not write the rules.
UEFA Cup was based upon the rules of entry specific to that competition.
We also, much later, gained entry to the Champions League without being Champions. Had we won that i assume it would have been discounted on this basis?
You never qualified, you were invited to take part at the expense of several other teams who finished higher in the league. You did well to win it, but you weren’t competing against teams of a similar level as they weren’t invited. That’s why the Inter Cities Fairs Cup doesn’t carry the prestige as the UEFA Cup.

The Champions League name is a joke, but the competition itself is open to all teams through a qualification process, therefore any winner deserves the recognition for winning it.

Howe only won 2 games in his first 11 (before splashing over £90m). He also led his team to a 1-0 home defeat against Cambridge during this time.
Aye, Alex Ferguson also had a shit start. Do you think manager’s can just push a button and Dummett will start performing . It’s always been my opinion a manager should get at least 2 years.

So here we have the 68-69 league table. I get why Everton didn't get to play in the Fairs Cup (Even though they finished 13 points ahead of the mags) but not sure on Arsenal and why Chelsea went in ahead of them? I guess Arsenal and also Southampton declined the opportunity? This is why FIFA didn't recognise it (or was it UEFA) as it was not based on sporting merit.

Either way for a big club it is 24,511 days since the 55 FA cup win, 19362 days for the 69 Fairs Cup win.....not really in a position to gloat as 17,938 days since our 73 win (unless you are having the pizza cup win)!

I love using the Datedif function in Excel sessions - wonder if the next time I deliver it in the ME any of the Saudi's will say they support the mags!
