Craft Beer

Staying near Mayfair, anywhere areas an hour or so away from there would be spot on
Mayfair is crap for beer, but within half an hour or so you can get to the good places.

Best place in Mayfair is Mercato Mayfair, it's a food market with a micro brewery in it (German Kraft) inside of a converted church.

Any preference for pubs, bars or taprooms? A string of places to bounce between, or just a good place to stick about? Within an hour you can get pretty much everywhere in London. Let me know what you prefer and I'll give you a few options.

For this visit it will be more pubs/bars to bounce around within an area. Maybe the odd cocktail bar thrown in.

Was in Islington a few months back and enjoyed a few places on Holloway road but fancy going somewhere different next time

Was in Tesco on Monday & their craft section seemed to have halved. Have we seen the beginning of the end of supermarket standard craft? Always canny to get some half decent cans for £3-£5

Going to be in Newcastle city centre this weekend anyone recommend a good bottle shop in the centre? Have done the one in central station just wondering if there are any more dotted about, can’t be bothered travelling out to jesmond for rehills

Town mouse micro pub sells a load of good cans.

Beer Street, behind Central station, is a pub and bottle shop. Sure they have a website so you may be able to have a browse and do click and collect.

In the arches not far from the Telegraph.

Got an email about it. Try this. Couple of impys in there.
Saw Hop Knocker had a £75 stout box on for £40 yesterday. Going to pick it up today. Will see if there’s owt else takes my fancy when I’m in there.

But… wedding night tomorrow at the Barnes. Might have one before going out, one when I get in, I’ll be on Guinness or Double Maxim in there. The opportunity for impy stouts are getting less & less unless I want to be randomly smashing them in for no reason on a night.

Might as well hoy this in here - anyone use Beer52? Recommended or not?
I had it for a while, cancelled it, re-started it (special offer) and am going to cancel it again.

Too many weissbiers, citrus stuff and cloudy IPA's for my taste. Now and again there are some really good ones - but too random.

You can get perfectly good craft beers (fridge fillers) from Aldi for a fraction of the price.
Yes they just rely on people forgetting or not being arsed enough to cancel
And this - thanks for the reminder!
