Like a proper one, not one who says he’s one cos he supports the filth
The author Scott Dobson (who wrote the "Larn Yersel' Geordie" books) defined it a someone born within one mile of the Tyne, from the mouth as far west as Wylam (either side). Seems as good a definition as any. If the maternity ward I was born in had been 100 yards further south, I wouldn't be one.

In my view SJH tried to make NUFC synonymous with the term Geordie to widen the appeal. Prior to that we used to sing Geordies/Mackems....
The whole Geordie v mackem thing became massive around the Keegan/Hall time. Mid 80s I heard the M word but it really became prominent after the 1990 play-off game which hurt us hard! Difficult to say whether SJH fuelled any of the rivalry but there’s definitely been a resurgence of the whole Geordie identity thing since the takeover.
Some of it is cringey and it’s amplified by arseholes on Twitter like that prick above twisting on about Milan & Botman. He’s from CLS that lad, complete whopper.
Saudi's are adveertising in the majority of major sports events. Aeramco all over F1 and IPL of late. Very good chance they'll be involved at SJP in some capacity.
AC Milan fans haven't had to suffer like Newcastle fans; they haven't had to believe as hard; they haven't had to galvanise their support to lobby parliament, wear fancy dress, get petitions going, hunger strikes etc. AC Milan are not as authentic and they don't deserve it as much as Geordies do.

That post was quite amusing. He is so caught up in the recent furore that he cannot believe why any player would not sign for Newcastle and choose another team. Even one who will be in the Champions league already, In a beautiful city for a team who have produced some of the best defenders in world football.
