CC :: Middlesex v Durham

Before Durham had a first class county they had always been my team as my dad was born there. I loved their team in the 80s with Barlow, Brearley, Slack, Radley, Gatting, Butcher, Downton, Edmonds, Emburey, Cowans, Williams, Selvey, Daniel etc

Absolutely aye I agree with that

Just lately, no personality in the plsyers, as I say decent cricketers but like they aren’t producing a Matty Potts never mind a Ben stokes

Class team you mentioned

They don’t produce many England cricketers even do they? Finn n Strauss?

Can’t really count Morgan

No you are right. They just seem to be happy to be bang average when they should be a big player

Loved Edmonds. A finger spinner who would bowl bouncers!

But .... I don't know what to feel about today. In previous seasons I'd have been more than happy with the end of day score but this season has been weird so far.

Kind of happy Stokes holed out in that way. After what he did previously maybe he thought he could get away with anything but he can't and we put the team in a bit of trouble just by being aggressive soon.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

hard isn't it, in his epic innings recently he slapped a massive six literally first ball after lunch, if he'd holed out there you'd say haway man big score, pissing it away. if he'd got enough on it to clear the rope this time you'd say devastating way to take apart the attack, exactly the right thing to do. fine margins like, that's why cricket is the best sport out there

pissing down now like

Bad morning so far. 15 minute train journey took more than an hour

Ready for a fight
Supposed to clear though isn’t it? Still a decent chance of two sessions of play…

Not for a few hours, even then pitch will be wet, abd there’s more showers later

Very little play today in my opinion

Just got in and been told there should be play this afternoon. Apparently the pitch is the best draining one in the world.
It is still raining but they have rolled up part of the covers.(???)
Hoping rain stops before scheduled time of 2 pm.
