Well, it will certainly be interesting
I'm sure we will find a way to mess it all up. It's a balance. Team spirit seems good so don't want to mess that up too much which is why I think keeping the likes of Dummett and Longstaff is pretty sensible IMO

Dunno i didn't search far.

I dunno if many ever did make it public. He did say he'd have preferred to keep them private at nufc but obviously that's not the case.
If he says he used to do it at Bournemouth I don't see much value on making that up. He could easily have just said "this is something I've decided to do to encourage embracing the winning feeling and to remember good days". Not gaining much by inventing a back story
There's not a huge amount for howe to gain. Although clearly doesnt harm him. There's everything for the owners to gain and avoid criticism that this is just something being used to foster an image of the club now.

"We're a family club. Everyone is in this together. Strong positive values you'd associate with the progressive saudi state."

It's all part of the saudi state using the Newcastle based team as a soft power tool to their benefit these days.

What are your thoughts on Almiron, keep or sell?
I would have initially said he would be on the way out, but I think he has probably played his way into staying now. On a personal level he would be on my keep list as well. His work rate is incredible and he seems popular amongst the players. His end product is very poor, but other players have improved under Howe and I would hope he might as well.

Sad to say but people who think they won't spend big are absolutely deluding themselves.
I fully expect them to get three or four top notch players including a striker and a keeper.
they won't give a shit about ffp. And whether they keep Wood or sell him to a club lower than them at a loss it'll be water off a ducks back.

What evidence do you have to support this view?

I think you're a little deluded.

They'll be banned for European competition and sanctioned by the Premier League if they ignore FFP.

They can spend another £100M no problem but they can't spend that amount every window moving forward.

They can give players away but that wouldn't be offset against their spending so that would be very foolish.

Banned like every other club who have spent money?

There are always ways around it, none more so than structuring deals to pay over a fixed amount of years and obtaining crazy sponsorship deals.

Clubs like who?

There isn't ways around it anymore. Everton were in grave danger of being sanctioned. They only escaped because they said their revenue was badly effected with covid.

They spent £450 over 5 seasons. Then they only spend £1.5M in the summer 2021 transfer window as they were screwed with FFP!

Some kind of secret agent is tunstallhill. One day sharing a steam room with mags, the next, working at the training ground. Seeing more than Mad Adam IMO
It’s not the same lad who nabbed some young mags cream bun from greggs is it. Mag tales and all that.

It wasn't 'pretty sensible' to pay £25M for a very poor reserve striker.

1 goal from open play in 16 games is a woeful return 😂
Terrible, but he’s served a purpose. Gave the team balance at a time when we were desperate to say the least. The other signings did ok though.

If we buy a player for say £50mill on a 5 year contract. That’s counts as £10mill a year towards ffp. Also you need to factor in any new sponsorship deals coming in. And also player sales over the same time. It’s not as cut and dried as you think.

1. The fact that they spent more than any other club in January
2. The fact that they are a bunch of horrible wankers

They spent less than they would have done had they had to spend themselves out of the Championship. I have referred to it as pragmatic. We'll see - I think you are wrong.

But you can't just invent figures for sponsorship anymore. That loophole has been closed.

Yes, you can prolong money over a period of time but as Everton found out, that catches up with you.

The only way you can spend big long term is be successful. Man City get about £40M for winning the premier league. You'll get about £14M for finishing 13th.

They get big money for being in the last 4 if the Champions League, you get nothing this year or next.

So, do you gamble everything of being successful within a couple of seasons or be prudent and take a longer term view?

I personally don't think you'll get above 8th next season. Eddie Howe is not a top 6 manager and you haven't got and won't have top 6 players.

Man Utd are struggling for top 6 this season and you are creaming over the likes Lingard who can't get a game for them!
