2nd XI - 2022

Olly stone not managing to finish his 2nd over for Warwickshire, hopefully nothing too serious
He was seriously thinking about retiring after last season.
.
Wonder why Luis Reece is in their 2nd XI. Is he playing himself back to fitness?

Derbyshire have had a good start to the season so may be struggling to get into the team. Helps that their overseas batsman knows which end of the bat to hold

Looked at their stats on cricinfo and looks like he had a dodgy season last year. A really useful player as he can open the batting and the bowling. South paw as well.
.
Good bowling performance by the lads, including a cracking caught and bowled by Drissell.

Carse has successfully bowled 13 overs.
.
Only me following this? :D

Derbyshire 241 all out. Durham batting again, 32/2. Jones got a jaffa first ball.

Lads lead by 332 with 5 second innings wickets remaining, done a great job in the 50 minutes of play today of pushing the lead on. Hopefully get bowling soon and get the win they should’ve had last week!

Edit - just as I posted this, we’ve declared!! Derbyshire will be chasing 342 in around 82 overs (rough estimate going off the time that’s left) or so….

And we've already got them 38/2. Mitchell Killeen is looking like a possible spiritual successor to Chris Rushworth.
.
60/3. Bushnell is getting a few overs. Wonder if we will see him in the RLC this year

Carse returns to take the fourth wicket (Velani) and thus ending a decent partnership.

118-4 with 47 overs remaining in the day.

Luis Reece (60*) proving a tough nut to crack in both innings.
-
Edit:

221-4 - wheels are coming off :o they only need another 122 to win and Reece has gone beyond 100.
-
Edit 2 - Pendulum swings back our way! Double strike for Drissell. Derby now 6 down still needing 102 (but Reece still unbeaten on 120).

New update - McAlindon gets Reece, but he made 166 and with two wickets remaining Derbyshire are 28 runs away from their target :o
-
Edit - 9 down! McAlindon on a hat-trick.

Durham got a T20 double header against Yorkshire at Harrogate today.
Clarky LBW second ball for 0 .No Luke Doneathy 🤔 so maybe an outside bet for Thursday's squad. Two unfamiliar names in Durham side.George Furrar who played for Warks 2nds last year and S.Wiesniewski who was in Yorkshire Academy. Not sure if he's making up the numbers or effectively on trial for Durham 🏏🤔

Sam Wiesniewski is 20 yrs old and a left arm wrist spinner 🤔 and George Furrar a 23 yrs old right arm fast bowler
