New stuff I've listened to over the weekend:
Jack White: a fun, quite guitar heavy album. I've still got a feeling that, to a degree he now follows where once he would be leading (see also Beck).
Pavement: the last album remastered with the tracks in a different order (preferred by some) and unreleased songs, demos and live tracks. A good reissue.
bdrmm: a new song (Port) plus six remixes of the song. It's pretty good, would prefer more new material though. Remixers are on point (WH Lung, Daniel Avery, Working Men's club amongst the).
Daniel Rossen: Grizzly Bear bloke going solo while they're basically on hiatus (Ed Droste left them to become a therapist). It's quite Grizzly Bear-esque really (a fair few of the band are involved).
Father John Misty: I like this a lot. Sounds very 70s singer-songwriter. Lyrics fun as always.
Calexico: more toward the Mex part of their Tex-Mex thing. Might be their best in a while.
Lucius: fun, danceable pop. A good album.
Wet Leg: they work well over an album, as well as singles. Really, really good!
Whatever the Weather: electronic artist Loraine James' ambient alterego. All tracks named after temperatures. Drifts along nicely.
Sirom: a mix of Balkan folk and jazz. Probably an acquired taste but I like it.
Orville Peck: another cracking album from country's masked man. Some crooners, some bangers, all excellent.
The Linda Lindas: fun punk pop from the band that features an 11 year old drummer (the rest of her bandmates aren't too much older). Lasts a brisk 25 minutes.
Album of the week: Wet Leg under strong pressure from FJM and Orville Peck.
