Please don't bring miners into this argument...my father was a proud miner (31 yrs) and a labour stalwart and a massive Sunderland fan..while Di Canio was in charge he was gravely ill with emphysema but still had an opinion on Di Canio..his words were quote "a sorry mess waiting to happen"..it didn't sit well with him at all!!..who was I to argue with him??
But one thing is for sure..if he had be alive to see your fans wearing tea towels and swigging cheap cider from a cheap bottle it would've horrified him!!

I am not sure that is factually correct to be honest. I am sure there were scabs from Wearside also. There were heroic miners, and scabs, from both sides of T&W.
