Imagine if Britain relied on gas from Russia as much as the EU does.It was a lunatic decision to rely on Russian energy and Ukrainians are paying with their lives.

West seems to sleepwalk into disasters of their own making. Food and energy security should be number one priority for any UK government going forward.Imagine if Britain relied on gas from Russia as much as the EU does.

All politicians are dodgy. The bloodiest hands in recent history belong to Tony Blair, but I wouldn't describe people who voted Labour as complicit in his taking us in to an illegal war, and spilling our forces blood. They voted for him, but had no control over his actions, the same as Tory voters this time around.Any tory accepting dodgy Russian money has blood on their hands and anyone defending it likewise. You dont need me to prove how daft you are people read your posts.
If you dance with the devil you deserve everything you get.
We need to bring forward the net zero target date and eat less meat to start with.West seems to sleepwalk into disasters of their own making. Food and energy security should be number one priority for any UK government going forward.
Usually I’m against that sort of thing but Russia started this mess, so crack on Japan."Japan has entered the chat"

Let me say first of all, I like the Finns. It depends if you are talking about meteorological or astronomical spring. You seem very vehemently in the astronomical camp, like a young druid.
I wonder if it's the saunas making the Finn's so happy. I think I might like to sit in a sauna as I'm engulfed by the nuclear blast.
Didn't our PM say that any increase in production would be at global prices, our bills will still go up, must say I agree with your sentiment though.West seems to sleepwalk into disasters of their own making. Food and energy security should be number one priority for any UK government going forward.
Russian or Ukrainian?this morning over western ukraine, 2 aircrew, one parachute open, one not fully open. that means it's probably a SU-34(?) that was shot down

The biggest lie I’ve ever read on here . The left never admit they are wrong and never listen to another point of view without resorting to personal insults .It should all be stopped whatever party. However, the tories are in the trough way, way way more than Labour.
The difference between the Labour boys and the tory boys is we can admit when there is wrong doing.
You lot seem to have some obsession with Johnson and his lies. It is very weird.
It’s a valid point you make about squeezing and suffering, the only problem with it is as we all know, once prices go up they’ll never come back down. Once the Russian issue is sorted we, the general public, then face our own battle against consumerism and corporate greed. If we aren’t going to fight we need to squeeze them hard and if that means we all suffer so be it.
I think this should may be another thread mind!
Oil was almost zero dollars a barrel a few years back because there was too much in the system. It’s a valid point you make about squeezing and suffering, the only problem with it is as we all know, once prices go up they’ll never come back down. Once the Russian issue is sorted we, the general public, then face our own battle against consumerism and corporate greed.
For me, the only way around that and the best ‘suffering’ we can do is to have a fundamental lifestyle change and not buy anywhere near as much as we do. Off topic a bit but the world needs a major readjust in, especially in the west in terms of its politics, consumerism and what it’s doing to the planet.
RussianRussian or Ukrainian?
Indeed . The price at the pump dropped below a quid for a short while.. when it had previously been up over £1.40Oil was almost zero dollars a barrel a few years back because there was too much in the system.
I think it’s immoral to fund the country while it is bombing civilians in Europe.
No they just directly fund the government instead. Much easier to influence the country then.Imagine if Britain relied on gas from Russia as much as the EU does.

Let me say first of all, I like the Finns.
I've only been a few times and had limited exposure to them while holidaying, but they can seem happy and sad at the same time.
The really odd thing to remember is that despite making some progress their suicide rate is still higher than average.
Same reasons we buy resources from other war criminals, it's in the national interest. How can the west be purchasing gas and oil from Russia while this is going on?
Sorry but getting 50% of your energy needs from Putin regime is ludicrous. Even without hindsight. No they just directly fund the government instead. Much easier to influence the country then.
