Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Makes a mockery of the whole thing mind. Can't imagine any country will ever agree to anything with "assurances" if we're now worked out they aren't worth the paper they're written on
It's not anything new that that's what the term means. It's not an accident that the US was supplying a lot of weapons to Ukraine even before the invasion.

I don’t feel safe at home, he has threatened to nuke us, we should not give in to this evil man and maybe the west should learn from those brave Ukrainians, otherwise all those lives lost will be in vain.

So why do you think allowing the war to continue and escalate will make you feel any safer at home. How will it end if we do what you want?

The thing with Putin is he does what he has always planned to regardless of what he says.

He planned to invade Ukraines ages ago and despite talks etc he did it. If he has planned to nuke us he will regardless of what we do, and if he has planned not to he won’t regardless of what we do.

Any agreement to terms or demands are meaningless. He wants Kyiv and will keep trying to take it. If Ukraine stop fighting like he asks it will just make it easier for him to take it.

Lying untrustworthy two-faced shits can only be beaten on the battlefield.

So if tomorrow Ukraine surrenders to all his demands, he will still nuke us, if he had planned to last week obviously?

If he's going to use nukes then he will sooner or later when he eventually reaches a red line he can't cross.

I don't think he will use them. No side can get an unanswered first strike in so, to coin a phrase, its MAD.

He's looking for a way out imo so maybe his "conditions" can be argued over.

I don’t want to live in a World where a madman threatens nuclear annihilation if he doesn’t get his way, who knows how this war will end, but we can’t keep letting him get away with it.

It's easy for you to say that though because the only effects on you is it costs you more to fill your car up or heat your home. Ultimately either the two sides agree a compromise or it escalates into a humanitarian disaster and potentially a much wider conflict.

It also sets a prescedent going forward to any tyrant who might want to try it again.
That's why the Ukrainians fighting so hard and continuing to do so is so crucial. It means that pointing a nuke at someone does not obviate fighting the conventional war (and experiencing attendant losses).
