Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Their demands have changed no? Was de-nazification and the end of Ukraine as a state a few days ago?

Aye. Clearly looking for a face-saving way out. Which, to be honest, opens a diplomatic window. I'm not saying Ukraine should capitulate, but they should at least be able to use these (reduced) Russian demands as a starting point for a further discussion.
Someone needs to explain it to Arron Banks & Nigel Farage as well

Have Banks and Farage made any demands with respect to the Ukrainian constitution?

Not sure about the constitution bit but Crimea and the other 2 are lost anyway. Surely nobody in Kiev thought they’d ever get them back anyway? That would also be political suicide for Putin.

Hang in another week and it’ll just be recognise those 3 places and we out!

Banks & Farage both expressed opinions before the invasion citing that Russia had every right to defend itself against potential threats from NATO expansion.
If you don't believe me I suggest you do a bit of research on it
Tucker Carlson had a very similar opinion on his Fox propaganda slot

That's not what I asked, to be honest.

Kremlin demands Ukraine recognise Crimea as Russian

Russia has said that it can stop operations at "any moment" if Ukraine meets Russian conditions.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Ukraine must recognise Crimea as Russian, and Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states.
In addition to this, Peskov says Ukraine must amend its constitution and reject claims to enter any bloc (like Nato, for example).
He adds that Russia will finish the "demilitarisation" of Ukraine, and if these conditions are met Russian military action will "stop in a moment".
The Kremlin spokesman insists that Russia is not seeking to make any further territorial claims on Ukraine.

There we go. That's where I think a lot of us thought we'd get to.

Probably the best outcome the Ukrainians will get. I suspect the west would push for that as a negotiated settlement.
Probably a lot depends on the Russian willingness to keep fighting, if the losses are as high as been reported 10k dead, eventually there losses will become unsustainable. If there's 10k dead I'd assume twice that wounded, that 1/6 of Putins entire invasion force out of action, plus massive losses of equipment. All speculation sadly

I don’t think they will get the demilitarisation of Ukraine like, they can stop at anytime that’s true if they keep fighting Ukraine they are going to end up with a weakened military themselves.

Probably end up with the two independent regions and Crimea.
Ukraine won’t win them back.

Putin has to try and same some political face

Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states…interesting. Given their cities have been shelled to bits and they are pretty small territories I assume Russia would be funding their rebuilding and they would basically be regions of Russia?

If I was Ukraine I would push for a referendum in those places. A proper one run and monitored by the UN, not the fake one Russia did before.

They could counter offer with joining the EU but not NATO.

The problem with the face saving way out is that it will always be seen as a massive Russian loss. Will Russia continue to surprise access to Western media/social media to stop any anti Russian news reaching the masses? Putin will just be constantly undermined.

They're f***ing shite. Said it all along. The Russian solution is to throw every bloke they can get their hands on and pay for a victory with blood.

Aye. Poor lads were expecting to be welcomed, instead they got shot at the daft twats.

Obviously their officers can't even give orders.

Interesting. Some backtracking that mind.

I suspect someone's realised the Sanctions are going to teleport them back the 60s.
