Great plan marraIt’s clear Putin isn’t going to back down and becoming more unhinged. Nothing coming from him can be believed anymore.
I know there is a chain of command to set off the nuclear missiles but I’m starting to think that that command is unhinged as well otherwise Putin would be dead now. The only way out now for Russia to save face is the nuclear option.
I’m starting to come round to the idea that we have to get involved militarily and massively risk a nuclear war in order to prevent a certain one if Putin carries on with his despicable campaign.
I hope Putin dies very very soon.
Leading the way on this and will come out of it with another GE victory.Johnson was an embarrassment then and even more of one now. Rancid.
if he cannot pay the police and soldiers, I cannot imagine he will last long. The police are keeping people in check at home but without them, bigger crowds will gather and someone will whip them up into a frenzy, especially if they are already angry. he will have to do something before this point.Preferably the last option however I don't think it is the most probably.
Worrying times
His country is under siege so I would expect him to tbh.The president of Ukraine is literally a comedian and he’s shown more leadership in a week than Johnson has in 2 years.
Said it a few times Russia have completely lost Ukraine to the west now. Unless Russia puts in a stooge. The EU/NATO/rest of world will rebuild Ukraine, it will become part of a successful trading block and in time flourish. Russia, as long as Putin reigns, or is being aggressive, will wilt back into a transition country/economy and become China's bitch.
Russia have lost.
There’s not a chance they would join NATO. They could hang Vlad in Red Square and still wouldn’t join NATO. Aggression by China towards them would be the only reason I could ever see them wanting to join. Chances of that are about zero.I wonder how much of the west's response is a long game to try and affect a regime in Russia which is favourable towards coming into NATO.
Your plan?Great plan marra![]()
Im the same with Navalny but I'm guessing he'd be a better option that Putin and anyone slightly better is atleast a move in the right direction.I don’t mind Macron. It’s better to try and fail than not try at all.
I’m not as erm sold on Navalny as a lot of people. He is another with an extremely shady background. I will admit he’s be a massive upgrade on Putin like. If he was the threat to Putin like some want to make out he’d be dead.
Vlads problem is he can’t go unless he can guarantee the next one won’t go after him. It is the reason Medvedev was appointed for that term. Medvedev would have allowed retirement in peace. They reckon the Arab spring was what brought Putin back as the President. His fear it would happen there, to them.
He needs an out, somehow.
Stalingrad was 80 years ago, and was won by attrition, dont think that even mad Vlad would accept that level of casualties, his forces certainly wouldn't. the level of moral in the invading forces must already be pretty low. I think that russian logistics have been atrocious , which probably explains why they are resorting to terrorising civiliansThanks I know. The Syrian Civil War has been at stalemate for the past 18 months but it wouldn't be difficult to re-escalate it the US thought that it was in their interests. That puts the Assad regime in a position where it is unlikely to want to provoke such a reaction by making a token military guesture to the Russians .
That's the Russsian who having participated in & been the victors of both the battles of Stalingrad and Berlin are unlikely seek the help of others for instruction in urban warfare. I believe that their military pride alone woud rule such an idea out.
I think if we want to avoid a potential nuclear conflict, it has to be that way. I don't like to idea of NATO holding back while the Ukrainians are slaughtered. However, I have no doubt that NATO would give the Russian army a kicking and that will back Putin into a corner.I wonder how much of the west's response is a long game to try and affect a regime in Russia which is favourable towards coming into NATO.
There's a scene in Charlie Wilson's War where the Yanks are sourcing Russian made gear from the Israelis in order to become involved yet retain a degree of plausible deniability. Perhaps it's that, and they certainly wouldn't want advanced weaponry to fall into Russian hands. At the risk of asking a stupid question - why doesn’t the US just send those shiny new ones to Ukraine?
Would his ego allow him to be ordered into exile by someone that he has owned for 30 years though? It would be ideal but ambitious!Im the same with Navalny but I'm guessing he'd be a better option that Putin and anyone slightly better is atleast a move in the right direction.
Ideal situation for Putin would be an Oligarch getting into power and Putin being offered a one way flight to some random country, a bit like Tunisia's Zine El Abidine Ben Ali got after the Arab Spri.ng, but I can't see Suadi Arabia welcoming him so maybe he could go to one of the countries that didn't vote against Russia at the UN.
He'd get off with the war crimes which would be a bitter pill to swallow but the war ends and lives are saved and he dies knowing he lost the war and everyone knows he is a war criminal. Just need to hope the new man/women in power was a little less mental than Putin and works with the West.
This thread the same Ukraine the same sums it up very brief, more detail when I’m not at graftHappy Monday(s) lads and lasses, been busy over the weekend with work so I don’t think I’ve read or posted anything since Friday.
In the long run it’s probably for the best for my own state of mind.
Can someone give me a brief rundown of how the last couple of days has gone?
Both in Ukraine and on this thread![]()
That laugh at the endthe video at the bottom is in Ukrainian except for one snippet "welcome to hell"
