Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

I would have thought that if Visa and Mastercard block them they won't work anywhere?
Read it again. If they were blocking all Visa transactions involving Russia, the final two sentences of the first paragraph are entirely superfluous. That statement was reviewed by about 15 lawyers before it was posted to Twitter. There's a reason those sentences are there.

Am hearing tales of African students protesting as not allowed to leave the country. Lots of little sub stories going on here

It's so difficult. I think this way maybe the best way to end the war, some sort of uprising but I do feel for the normal Russian people who don't want this and lets be honest had no choice in it.
Putin’s fault, no one else’s. The difficulty will be whether Russian people blame Putin, or believe whatever propaganda he feeds them.

As for other comments on rebuilding Russia and helping it develop. Once Putin is gone then absolutely we invest to make it a stable normal democracy. But if it is still a nation of oligarchs and oppressive autocrats then we shouldn’t give it a single penny.

Abramovich has said money from selling Chelsea will go to rebuilding Ukraine I think...
Not sure how far that'll go in fairness. The Russian reserves frozen by foreign central banks would probably do it though.

Russia has acted like a state terrorist. They have invaded a sovereign state, murdered civilians and threatened the world with nuclear annihilation.

There should be no question of lifting any sanctions until they have left Ukraine including the Crimea and Putin has been removed from office. There should be no support until they give up their nuclear weapons.

'Russia' hasn't really acted like a state terrorist. Putin has.

I really wonder what information he has being given in the past few years. I actually think he has probably been fed input from his trusted sidekicks that this invasion is the right thing to do and they'll win easily.

I’m sure you’re ‘hearing’ a lot.

In the real world, I’m working with a business that’s trying to get people out of the country, so your bullshit isn’t required, cheers.
To be fair I just tried searching for the tweet and it's gone, so I agree. The Instagram footage is still up, but in my mind it could be anywhere with snow, so again agree it has to be disregarded.

At this point, there isn't really any difference.

Germany demilitarised and became a liberal democracy after WW2. If Russia does the same then great - let's send them a lorry load of cash and food.

But they are most likely to double down and be led by some other bully boy wanker who threatens everyone with death if they don't get their own way. In which case, they can get f*****.

Just to be clear, your posts in full are to be disregarded, you’re a ‘character’, and I’m using that term so I don’t get banned by referring to you as what you really are.

The actions are having a huge impact on the populace, not to mention the conscripts being killed. Russia is going to collapse into poverty. Should we fund the recovery of the country in the next 10 years?

Question for tomorrow not today, but difficult moral and ethical questions to be faced.
It’s the best opportunity to help create a more moderate and democratic state so we absolutely should help fund that once regime change has happened. It’s not the fault of ordinary Russians.

Stop Pouring money into Russia end of
Germany relies on 60 % on Russian gas
Tell them to fuck off
The Germans won't stop propping them up with the Gas purchases, nabbed a few yachts though🤷‍♂️

It's a good point, who is the next expected incumbent and what do we know about them?
