Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

The younger ones today are so much more savvy than the older ones.

My now 79yo Mam would tell be some obvious bullshit (usually pro Brexit before the vote). I was pretty much non political and I remember her telling me that the EU want to break England up into regional areas and get rid of the country. I said that can't be true and she would bring the Daily Express with her next time as "proof".

On the other side my 13yo daughter seen some Air Jordan's online which were £50 and normally retail at £300 and could I buy her a pair? I said at that price she could have two pairs but she put the site on Trustpilot and they were an obvious scam site.

The difference between the young and the old and how much they believe what they're told.
But which category do you fall into because it sounds to me like you had a lucky escape of being £100 out of pocket if it wasn't for your young daughters quick thinking 😊

Can someone point me to what Coke have actually said? Ta
I’ve looked online and as far as I can see this is getting out of hand and not true. If it is true then of course they should be taken to task but this sort of thing isn’t right. There’s absolutely no statement anywhere from Coca Cola to say theyve took any stand on it either way.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Putin is rattled. His demeanour has completely changed in his last few speeches. He looks tired, edgy and isn’t his usual composed self and seems unsure. Now he’s reaching out to neighbouring countries and asking for normalisation of nations.

There’s no way he was expecting this invasion to last so long. He certainly wasn’t expecting the world’s reaction and demonisation of him and how quickly Russia would be affected by sanctions. He wasn’t expecting the Ukrainian peoples reaction either.

He’s probably been lied to by his generals about the state of his army and he wouldn’t have thought he’d be seeing hundreds of broken down or abandoned pieces of equipment and he wouldn’t have thought they’d be any logistical issues. He certainly wouldn’t have expected his soldiers to be dissenting and desserting

He’s rattled alright and beginning to have the look of a man who knows the game is up. He’s a dead man walking
Good post.

He is a dead man walking.

Sadly the question is how many more men, women and children will die before he does.

I got a few good Russian mates & they're 100% aware. They hate him & they're embarrassed & ashamed to be Russian at the min.

My born and bred Kyiv wife had a row with her friend (Kyiv raised with Russian parent and married to a Russian and they live in Manchester). They're supporting Russia despite living here 20 years and he started shouting at my wife over the phone after he intervened after both our wives started rowing.

My wife told him that if he didn't watch his tongue she send me to Manchester to batter fuck out of him, I've never even met the guy.

And even in this awful situation they can’t help themselves using three word slogans.
“Putin must lose” “leading the way”
While few would disagree with the first one, why does it have to be wrapped in a slogan, as far as the second one goes, it’s just a lie wrapped in a slogan.
I know we aren’t meant to do politics on this thread, but it seems they are almost using a war to try and win votes.

They used a global pandemic that was rapidly killing over a hundred thousand British citizens to try and win votes - why would a foreign war be any different?

Obviously not in so many words but ensuring their Russian market is supplied
