Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

All part of the plan. Flood Europe with 20m plus refugees, incorporate Ukraine as part of greater Russia and at some stage rebuild the cities and infrastructure they've destroyed. Have a look at what he did to Grozny and look at pictures of it today. Win/win for Putin, he puts huge pressure on the West, and I've got no doubt the oil and gas will be turned off shortly, while wiping Ukraine off the map.
Plans go to fuck as soon as you take one on the chin Alf. As the gnome has found out, again. I’ve seen Grozny and while yes it’s rebuilt and looks better than befor, it’s one city in a country of around 1.5m ppl. There’s double that in Kiev alone.

The Ukraine they knew has gone for good now. They will never ever be welcome. He may as well deport them all to Siberia and fill it with more shite from inside Russia.

Putin will just keep pushing the nuclear threat further and further.

Daring the West to either appease him or challenge him.

Realistically I’m not sure what we gain by the former. If he wants to manufacture a reason to use them regardless he will, or just do it anyway.. If he isn’t intent on doing so and it’s all bluff then we should stick to redlines or else he takes what he wants.
All part of the game isn't it, just slightly higher stakes right now. I'd be pretty confident that those red lines have been clearly communicated too, lots of comms will be going on behind the scenes that aren't open to public consumption.

Bit odd. Or perhaps not. Golan I brigade is effectively Israeli special forces I believe

You must be logged on to see media items
Used to work with a lad on the sites who was ex forces. He said they went all over the world meeting different countries army’s and he said the Israelis were the only ones that really impressed him. Big respect for them.

The Bloomberg article is conjecture and arguable sensationalism on something that hasn't happened?

I'm leaving this thread for good. You and you're ilk and are beyond reproach, unable to comprehend or challenge a narrative.

All you have done is circulate pro-Putin talking points that you have found on other social media and shared them on here

And when you got called out for it you shit your pants and ran away

Not really the most heroic contribution to the debate

He's a Ukraine denier mate, doesn't believe it has a right to exist and he wont care what it looks like subsequently. There's some pretty disturbing intelligence being leaked about Putin imposing martial law on his own people and public executions in Ukrainian cities to deter insurgents once he has control.

The only way out here is a coup at the top in Russia. Maybe the West can offer a way out and a potential way back for Russia should they take Putin out.

The recent footage of putin shows his face quite ‘puffy’ not too unlike someone having a course of steroids or even Botox . Granted he is almost 70 so might be abit of ageing.

I wonder if the US intelligence services have better insight into this

Sanctions is the way out atm. Have them at a point where eating their own shit is preferable to what’s on offer at the dinner table and surely some one will off him?

He’d have to be arrested, trialed and executed within a day or two. No way they’d hand him over to The Hague so it has to be internally dealt with, as you said.

well i dont really know , i just know the govt and media have forgot all about it in last couple of weeks , almost like it never existed so it is
Bollocks, I definetely saw the COVID figures last night on the news, 36 deaths in Scotland, 9000+ new cases reported.

Anyway, back to the topic in hand

Pro-Putin? One can be anti-Putin/Russian whilst acknowledging the hypocrisy and contributing factors the west have brought to enable this debacle.

Or are we that blinded by western morally superiority and imperialism?

Roid rage on a global scale. Certainly trumps punching a lamp or shouting at people !

NATO is a defensive force for the countries in it. Unless one of them are directly attacked they won’t intervene. Obviously fear comes in to it, but mostly it’s following the contract that each country signed.

Whether Ukraine should have been allowed emergency membership before Russia attacked is another story. Too late now though.

But that’s the problem really. Apart from Moldova he has no where else to go now without it being an escalation with NATO.

He is 70. This is the beginning of the end for him anyway. He has clearly an immense hatred for the West and NATOs eastward expansion and his apparent vision for Russia of recreating the Tsarist empire has gone. He is also either unhinged or portraying being unhinged.

He may feel he has nothing left to lose and with the threat of nuclear weapons behind him feel emboldened enough to challenge NATO in the Baltic’s. Effectively saying what you going to do about it?

All of the arguments for not challenging in Ukraine still exist and the potential repercussions don’t change

Whatever happens I hope we make clear that the sanctions will never end as long as he remains in power and Russia is on the aggressive front. Make it clear his country will wither from now on, regardless of how this pans out.

Looks like you couldn't even leave the thread properly!

All you have done on this thread is post daft stuff that you have found on line that is being circulated by the Russians

Either you are pro-Putin, in which case fuck off

Or you are too dim to realise that you are been fed pro-Putin lines and you are just regurgitating them. In which case fuck off
