The idea that their military police can completely suppress any dissenters and Ukrainian culture is utter utter bullshit.

Just like it was impossible for Russia (and the USA/UK) to completely suppress the mujahideen in Afghanistan.

40 million people in Ukraine. I don’t even think NATO could ‘conquer’ that if they wanted to.

Not interested in a cock waving contest mate. Certainly not Interested in justifying my degree to someone who is apparently profoundly triggered by a different interpretation to theirs despite it being widely supported in peer reviewed historical publications for decades at this point.

Happy to debate anything but I'm not going to take lectures on maturity from someone who feels the need to personally insult someone who thinks that a few paragraphs on a messageboard by someone they don't know represents a way
to gauge the totality of their knowledge and opinion on a subject.

Not a great deal. Most of their computers run on pirated software including windows and micorosft office.

It's the same in Belarus and they've been on the receiving end of quite a few cyber attacks because their pirated software isn't being updated

Not interested in justifying my degrees either.

I'll happily debate your thoughts (and that is the appropriate word) on China though. The US being built, (and maintained?) on a war economy is a more complicated discussion and I can see both sides of the argument. It's a 'message board' FYI.

Not great at all. Mind, in some ways at least it'll be a comfort if he hasn't gone completely crazy in terms of the fact that it makes the situation less likely to escalate into world war 3. The lad talks a lot of sense, and you can certainly see where he's coming from, but the underestimating goes both ways. I think Russia have underestimated the Ukrainians. They'll probably take the place eventually, but as others have mentioned it's hard to see how they can hold it. And if sanctions continue to bite they're going to become very, very reliant on China which sounds to me (admittedly I know nowt about politics) a pretty vulnerable position to be in
