It can’t be understated how damaging it is to Russia, that the oil majors are pulling out. Their energy and gas exports prop up their economy, and the inward investment of the oil majors is integral to future development, infrastructure spending etc. all of the things that allow Russia to extract and export oil and gas.

I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine

That is massive from Abramovich!!

I wish he’d been a bit clearer but surely this is more on the side of Ukraine than Putin … fingers crossed the tide turns

It kind of does, unless a) we are 100% sure they wont use Nukes or b) We have a way to negate them or c) We say fuck it, shit planet anyway

You can't let someone behave irrational and cower just in case.

Russia isn't having it's borders threatened, if we give concessions now then they'll play that card again five years down the line. It's a complete over reaction and even if Putin did want it I'm 99% sure there would be a coup. It's not like we're attacking them and knocking on Moscow's door.

I just think Russia look incredibly week as the nuclear card is the only card they've got. I'd be happy to go to war with the fuckers now if nuclear weapons were 100% off the table. They've lost their reputation in the space of a week.

Britain’s media watchdog Ofcom has launched a further 12 investigations into the news broadcaster RT and said it is considering whether the Russian-backed television channel should retain its licence.

Ofcom’s latest decision brings the total number of probes into the “due impartiality” of programmes on the Russian state-controlled network to 27.

The regulator said:

We are very concerned by the volume of programmes on RT that are raising potential issues under the Broadcasting Code, and as we progress our investigations we are considering whether RT should retain a UK licence.

My point was though that they have hypersonic missiles which potentially give you the chance to launch a preemptive strike as they can evade detection systems.
woah there you got a link about not detectable as opposed to not being able to be shot down? Plus i'm not sure they have that many

So in a war that Russia will win, why continue fighting and putting your own citizens to death if the outcome is going to oppression either way?
Russia won’t win if Ukraine fight back, they will win if they all down tools

You’re a proper wet wipe mind aren’t you

That's my point

Because if Ukraine had just laid down and got buttfucked last week the news headlines would be about Johnson and parties rather than Ukraine. Russia would get a slap on the wrist with sanctions and give it a couple of years they're back in the tent like it had never happened.

You're right in pretty much every thing you say there.
I've been to war, and hated every f***ing minute.
As a result I have formed a pacifist mindset reference any kind of conflict.
However, when my family are threatened, just get out of my way, because I really have no fear gene when it comes to protecting them.
That's what the people of Ukraine are doing.
Just inherent in people. We wouldn’t be here now if we just let people come and take what is important to us. I reckon loads of us would stay and fight if a dictator tried to come and take our homes and take Away the freedom we’ve always been used to.
