As soon as I saw it I thought Instagram, if he really wanted to go he would have caught a flight to Poland already 👍

Obviously not liberating the Western Ukrainians who hate his guts, they'd feel imprisoned if he were to control the whole country. But, it's not the whole country fighting against him, there's a sizeable chunk want to remain close to Russia. (That's not to suggest they support Putin, his regime or his actions here.)
