Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Yeah, I'm not unrealistic about possible outcomes here and I genuinely wouldn't rule out the use of nuclear weapons by Russia, maybe not ICBM's but battlefield tactical ones.
Me neither. I really believe they/he are capable of anything, especially if it starts to look like financial Armageddon/regime change.

He’s been banging on about no world without Russia for years. The baldy little bastard is nuts.

As if Putin gives a shit. I thought they were still supplying it because if they didn’t, they wouldn’t get paid and hence couldn’t finance the war. But if they already have the money, why are they even bothering?

The context of Germany being in credit is in relation to the initial Germany hesitancy regarding SWIFT.

Futhermore they don't need Europeans money necessarily because they've got the arctic route to Asia now, so it's not like they're only sending it west. Although it is within Russians interests to take Ukraine because deposits have been discovered in Ukrainian territory, the 2nd largest in Europe and 14th globally, just behind Australia. That there does have an affect on Russian European gas supremacy.

There's something not right with him. Last night he invited people in to discuss the situation and there was half a dozen people sitting normally about a foot or so apart and Putin was 20 f***ing feet away at the other end of the table.
The people policing it. It's not a gentleman's agreement.

NATO? EU?

If we set a no fly zone up we may as well just say fuck it and launch a preemptive strike with nukes. It’ll save time and lives because it’s where we’ll end up anyway.

Whilst we are at it, throwing nukes around and that, we may as well take China out. Again, save us the bother later.

People need to calm down a bit like

what's your views on the Budapest Memorandum?

'The Budapest Memorandum was negotiated at political level, but it is not entirely clear whether the instrument is devoid entirely of legal provisions. It refers to assurances, but it does not impose a legal obligation of military assistance on its parties'

NATO via the UN I imagine. The EU doesn't have that kind of authority on its own.

It's ridiculous of the West to be so reliant on Russian gas, particularly Germany. I'll stand by that statement.

The Russian gas industry and infrastructure is serious business, I've been to Yamal/Sabetta a few times and it's crazy to think they have a further two projects lined up in that area. Their aspirations surpass Qatar.

It doesn't stop with gas though. Russia is a commodity super state and are the world leading suppliers in several metals as well as (with Ukraine) a quarter of the world's wheat.
