Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

the Frogfoot is the Russian A10 equivalent - i'm not sure i'd want to be in one of them if i'm going up against any sort of modern air defense network

big gun go BRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTT, tanks go BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM

yeah, that's my thinking. they're subsonic so easy targets for the russian air defence "if" they're around... it's a war though, you've got to give them a go though. could make a difference

I think that too but you can’t have it both ways. You’re the one who said we can’t question Ukraine so I don’t see how you think we can question Russia. It’s 2 sides yet you’re saying we can only question one.

What are you on about question one side? Its hardly like I'm sat here questioning Russian military tactics but then telling people they shouldn't question the Ukraine's. Saying Russia is wrong for invading the Ukraine is in no way comparable to questioning military tactics man

Nearly. Just doesn’t quite catch. I hope the Ukrainians don’t genuinely throw these at tanks as they will get shot.

But these attacks on support vehicles could leave the tanks useless and abandoned if they manage to start taking them out. Seems the method of Choice is drive by. If he threw it in the back it probably burns. They are horrific things molotovs.

Is this the same one from another angle? Person chucking it from the car is lucky they didn't set everyone inside it on fire.

Article about banking restrictions and why they might be too effective

They have already frozen them. That’s a few days old and the US, EU, UK and Japan this morning have all frozen their central bank assets.

I agree with the article mind it’s high risk and I would be surprised if Putin doesn’t consider it the same as a physical attack. They will run out of money if it’s not reversed

No I think that’s different. That’s a tracked vehicle where as the other one looks like a support vehicle with tires

It’s exactly the same.

Anyone more clued up on this able to say if the massive convoy of Russian armour is a sitting duck for air/drone strikes?

Guessing conventional air strikes are a massive risk but drones could be useful? Does Ukraine have that kind of capability?

The Turks have given them drones, they're getting planes delivered to Poland iirc.

It sounds callous but this is why the whole thing resonates. We can feel sorry for people in “war torn” Africa but we don’t identify with them. Some would say that is racist but it’s human nature. I feel like I would love to be Ukrainian. They seem such a fantastic set of people. (I’m sure they have their faults)

Careful there Enoch.

The A10 is a superb aircraft, the US Army has had a running battle with the DoD to keep them. It does what it says on the tin. Ukraine could do with some Apache helicopters.

Hopefully. They'd need a hell of a lot of them poor fuckers.

If we were involved in this all those vehicle would be smoking now.
