If you are referring to WW2 there are zero similarities with Britains position.Follow the thread bud
Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)
Yellow armbands signify that they're civilians fighting as part of the Ukraine army. It appears these people were using it as a disguise when as acting as saboteurs. One of them shot and killed which suggests they were saboteurs and not looters. Also there was about a dozen of them which also...www.readytogo.net
I'd like to think they would step up if needed so desperately.... I'd love to think it actually
If he would, he wouldn't be the first on this thread to admit itSo you would immediately bend over and surrender?
I'm in my 70s and can't remember any blitz spirit but I would willingly take up arms if that happened here.
Simples!Big news!
Russia are ruined now. Comparethemarket have suspended adverts featuring Alexander the meerkat!

You're a massive hypocrite. You get your off topic jabs in then go crying foul and moaning about the thread being derailed when others do it.I wonder how many times we'd hear "I'm not fighting for that Tory govt/ Brexit supporters/ that sewer"?
I'm sure those that hadn't the heart for a fight would always find some self- justification
Why all the shit-posting about Britain? If he would, he wouldn't be the first on this thread to admit it
Each to their own I suppose (sadly)
I'm 62 and I'm with @Mercia Blackcat. My Dad is 88 and he's with @Mercia BlackcatSo you would immediately bend over and surrender?

Civilians being called up to fight an invasion by an insane dictator bent on seizing power over sovereign statesIf you are referring to WW2 there are zero similarities with Britains position.

Bud.
It's unpopular because it's not the truth. Ukraine isn't Russia just like Canada isn't the US. Two places having many things in common (and yes, that includes corruption for Ukraine and Russia) does not make them the same nor does it make it morally justifiable for one to take over the other by force. And once the Russians take a place, they dig in hard - to the point that fighting back "later" means decades.Tbf, he has a point, it’s an unpopular truth but it would be much easier if Ukraine let Russia take what they wanted and then fought back at a later date by other means….and he’s also right about Ukraine being corrupt, I’ve mentioned this a few times but again, it goes against the rhetoric on here….for once, the US seem to have it right
Go tell that to ordinary Ukrainians fighting for the lives of their children.Tbf, he has a point, it’s an unpopular truth but it would be much easier if Ukraine let Russia take what they wanted and then fought back at a later date by other means….and he’s also right about Ukraine being corrupt, I’ve mentioned this a few times but again, it goes against the rhetoric on here….for once, the US seem to have it right
Feels or Is ?
The West directly benefitted, expanded and took territory from the USSR. Done with the pen or the panzer.
Pity the poor souls on the receiving end of that.
I wonder if posters are still feeling sorry for the "poor russian lads"?
Out of all of this tragedy, it’s the single most wonderful thing that I’ve been clinging on to. The global community is united, from the f***ing judo federation, to the Brazilian Government. From the Polish bloke driving a refugee to Czechia, to the EU and the world coming together to cripple the Russian economy. The line in Balham High Street - people taking donations of clothes and supplies to a charity for refugees in Poland.
It’s as if the whole world is Arya Stark. It gives me goosebumps and make me think we can do this if we stand up to the cûnt.

I was replying to @Harry Angstrom 's post about this country having lost something. You're a massive hypocrite. You get your off topic jabs in then go crying foul and moaning about the thread being derailed when others do it.
He’s not saying whether it justifiable or not, he’s given legit reasons for not joining in. He’s listing legit facts, the whole ‘indistinguishable’ thing is nonsense, yes, if that’s all that comes out of that then I’d say he’s got it pretty much spot on.It's unpopular because it's not the truth.
