I think most of us get it, Johnson is a **** and the refugee offering isn't anywhere as good as other countries (bearing in mind someone mentioned Ukraine didn't want them going to far so they could return easily) but to see it constantly regurgitated isn't what we want to see repeated.

Many people in this thread and no doubt many more lurkers who don't even post in the Politics forum will be looking for updates on the latest news on whether this shit is going to escalate even further. The Boris/Brexit/Tory etc bitching posts along with needless tit for tat doesn't really help them does it? Surely you've seen the numerous posts about people who come to this thread to get updates so why can't people not help other posters with valuable input into the thread rather than hinder it?

Put it this way, if the UK government came out with a statement like the EU on refugees, it would be posted on this thread and rightly cheered, as we did with the EU statement.

We are discussing on this thread, other countries responses to the war and cheering when they get it right.

I will cheer when we also get it right, because we are cheering and celebrating all the other good stuff.

Got to say it's awe-inspiring to see how the whole of Europe has stood up to be counted against Russia. For too long it looked to the US for leadership, but maybe Trump made folk realize that wasnt a winning strategy.

Who knows where this goes but at least it won't be determined upon the worries that a gallon of gasoline in Chicago might pass four bucks a gallon.
 
The gov have been saying for weeks the intelligence indicates an invasion so it does seem a little odd they haven’t planned ahead ‘a refugee policy’ , they probably need to match the EU policy
