Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Seems to be a lull tonight. Rockets and missiles still but not the intensive firefights we have been seeing.

Russians will probably be on their knees after 4 days of advancing and constant fighting. And/or out of fuel, ammo and food.

Looks like more Russian columns en route though and supposedly Putin wants Kiev by Monday. Hopefully Ukraine can use the lull to regroup

Brilliant.

My wife is a Dinamo Kiev fan and I remember us watching them on TV versus Everton in the Europa Cup ( I think Dinamo won 5-1 or 5-2?). She kept referring Everton to me as "your guys". I had to tell her several times they ain't "my guys" and like her I was supporting Dinamo.

It's not the players mate, it's the fans. This happened in the Balkan conflict also if you remember.

possibility that the 13 lads who defended snake island might be still alive

Not alive mate, unfortunately. Seems the Russians dressed some of their own soldiers in Ukrainian uniforms for whatever reason. That's the up to the minute word coming out of Ukraine. I've spent most of the last 72 hours with my Ukrainian friend and she is in constant touch with friends and family back home. Russian troops suffering some casualties which will become apparent as the picture becomes clearer.

balls of steel...

the lad with the nlaw casually sauntering up to the front is apparently a ukranian general. from the thread it's a crossroads that the ukranian's were defending and the vehicles on fire are russian.
one of them says "after this i won't speak russian again"
