Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

That's the only one they've got anarl. Their navy is pretty shite. Still have cruisers and battlecruisers which became obsolete in most other navies after WWII. Don't think they have many more destroyers and frigates than us and a few of those are getting on a bit. They also have five major naval bases so they're spread a bit thin.
A poundshop outfit, by all accounts.

Mate, Russia landed paratroopers at Kiev Gostomel airport like 36 hours ago after a helicopter rocket attack. It was an onslaught and it failed. They were trying to take that airfield to fly in masses of troops to swamp Kiev within 24 hours. The planes literally turned back in the air when the assault failed. I

Are many going from other countries to assist the Ukrainine fighters
Not seen much about this but would think many who support democracy would ?
If Russia takes control then probably see people volunteer as resistance type figures. That's a big country with friendly borders on the west that can ship arms through easily. Trying to stop insurrection would be a nightmare. Don't think this whole thing has been too well thought out by Putin.

This will be an unpopular opinion. It's clear the Ukraine are putting a lot of propaganda out and that's being backed up by people trying to get social media stardom. I honestly think the Russians are slightly behind where they planned to be, but are on top of the battle. There's a lot of people getting sucked into this ideathe Ukrainians are doing a lot better than expected.
I know what you mean. The next 24 to 48 hours will be critical in my view. If the Russians use their big guns and take Kyiv then they will go on to take the country. But if not, then this will be a long drawn out conflict, and eventually Russia will seek a settlement.

I don’t mean photoshopped, it’s a “ real” photo it just isn’t a contemporary to this conflict photo. It’s a powerful image but not of this conflict.
Ah right, I asked as some earlier today were suggesting the kids were shopped in! I guess you just used the wrong word as it was obviously posted in a intentionally misleadingly manner by some tw@t on tw@tter. The thing is, the more some see of the fake/propoganda stuff then it will make them wonder about genuine stuff but sadly there's people out there who get kicks out of doing crap like this or as we know, governments who will do it also. Nobody take this the wrong way as I'm not saying it's not as bad as some are making out as there's some serious shit going on for sure.

I've already posted links earlier today to the original photo along with what I feel were 'staged' photos, especially the one with the 2 lasses in full makeup and the bairn.

I think in time a lot of people will. Few people on various news outlets have said they expect a lot of armed service personnel from various countries to go and fight as mercenaries.

Mango Mussolini is about to speak to his fellow crazies at CPAC in half an hour. Wonder if he’ll still be praising Putin as a genius?

Surely big weapons mean big civvy casualties dead …they will not want that as world already hates them

Honestly I'm not trying to be contrary. I'm just trying to hold some perspective. I'd love nothing more than than the Russians to get embarrassed in the field.
