Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Appreciate like their army they have some older gear but I thought they’d gone through a bit of a rebuild in the last decade or so?
There was a great site I found a few year back that catalogued all the worlds military hardware purchases/spend etc. I can't remember what it was called but it will come to me.

But you must understand why we really can't.
I understand why people feel that way, but where does it end? If the logic is

“We can’t get involved with Russia or they’ll use nukes”

Doesn’t that immediately invalidate NATO? Because if it was say, Estonia they invaded, wouldn’t that nuclear threat still exist?

That just means we have to let Russia do what they want when they want or else they’ll use nukes.

Not sure how long we can just stand back and let this happen.

The EU, UK, US and everyone else need to do something.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place, I don’t think it will cause a nuclear war putin won’t do that much as people think he’s mad (he is) it’s not just as easy as pressing a button.

What we need to do is control the skies, control the seas block them as much as we can stop Belarus being a supply chain for them.

For one nation to step foot on Ukraine soil nato would have to declare a war on Russia, and we would see where China etc stands on this.

Putin knows this why he has done what he has, he won’t touch a NATO country as he won’t win no one will win.

His nuclear weapons are also dated and quantity does not mean qualify.

We are always seconds away from another global conflict and we are also potentially seconds away from this one being over. It could last days weeks months or even years.

Thing is for many this will become a second thought soon.

Young men going home in body bags for a cause they don’t even know about most weren’t even born when the Soviet Union existed.

Putins time is up what ever happens now he can’t ever win

I really don't think it was ever going to be an onslaught though. Even some 'experts' I've seen on the news today were talking about being surprised at the scale of the invasion still. This is a country bigger than France with its major cities spread out.
Mate, Russia landed paratroopers at Kiev Gostomel airport like 36 hours ago after a helicopter rocket attack. It was an onslaught and it failed. They were trying to take that airfield to fly in masses of troops to swamp Kiev within 24 hours. The planes literally turned back in the air when the assault failed. I

Not the thread for arguing about this but Usmanov had no active position on the board at Arsenal. He had no say on any decisions at the club. He was in the habit of writing open letters to the board criticising the way the club was run. Arsenal were self-sufficient when he had a stake in the club. The only people at Arsenal who took Usmanov money were those that sold him their shares. For his 30% holding he had no influence at all in the way the club was run. Hence him pissing off to Everton.

Exactly. When Hitler went into Sudetenland in 1938 to 'save' all those poor German speakers it was peace in out time, time. except it wasn't.

Any source on that being all Russia? I've just seen this but don't know where that German government spox stuff has come from or is about as it seems to suggest it's a small sector. Obviously nobody believe this tweet is fact below as I've only posted it to discuss it and possibly get more info about it.
