Putin needs stopping at the farthest away place, saving the lives of Ukrainians and others in Europe in the process.
For me sanctions may not have to be troops on the ground yet but air strikes should be on the agenda.

Blocking them from Swift would be huge. And have massive impact on global banking so it should t be taken lightly. I’m in two minds about it tbh.

British training paying off. We may not be on the ground in Ukraine but in a way we are.

We are going to be at war with Russia at some point. If the EU (I’m including the UK) and the US act in complete unison we can defeat Putin early.
Am I been hyperbole or do others think that this a whole European invasion by Putin? I believe he wants the soviet empire back and more.

if you say so, but it’s very easy to say to say send others to fight when you are not prepared to do so yourself

Oh and if being the son of a British soldier whose war came to an abrupt end during the Anzio landings in January 1944 makes me a self centred **** so be it

Agreed we should all be doing both. Putting pressure on him internally and helping Ukraine repel the Russian army at the same time. I thought I read yesterday that Germany had changed their mind and were in favour of the swift sanctions? Seems like they may be unsure again?

Edit: not through direct conflict in case it's not obvious for the above post. I mean the way we are with supplies and intel.

From what I understand common to have a "story" if captured, mind never really know it to be used by common soldiers, most are trained to just not give anything away about movements and troop numbers etc, but the whole back story is drilled into special forces, to hide the fact they are special forces.
 
Putin could be finished pretty quickly if the rest of the world wanted to. The loses required to do it though would be huge.

I saw some financial expert yesterday saying removing them from Swift wont make much difference as Russia can just go back to using the previous Telex system

Young, Cold, Hungry, tired and scared a lot of these Russian troops will be, moral must be tanking fast, I dont blame the troops they have no choice, but its a necessary evil that Ukraine defenders have to make these invaders pay a heavy prices for the foolishness of their leadership.
