Sky News has just had to cut there live feed from Kyiv because of incoming missiles, exactly the same with the reporter in Kharkiv. Horrifying to watch!

Anyone heading that way on their holidays this year?
I have to admit that my geography of the area isn’t great but when I looked I was surprised how many popular U.K. destinations are very close geographically to Ukraine.
I bet the travel industry loves Putine as much as they love covid

The choice seems to be

a. die on the road being bombed or strafed by ruski aircraft.

b. die in hand to hand fighting after days/weeks in a strange city

c. starvation when the Ukrainian military eventually collapses

I'm not a religious man but my heart goes out to those poor souls sent off to fight a fight they'll never fully comprehend.

Tbf I think a lot of the reservists understand exactly what they'll be fighting for
 
If you’ve seen the video of the armoured vehicle driving over the top of a civilian car, with the driver inside, you’ll probably be as surprised (and pleased) as I was, to see there’s a video of him alive, with people trying to free him from his mangled car.

Depends what you mean by "this". The invasion itself is down to Putin, he's officially the aggressor and breaking international law. That's clear enough and easy to see he's to blame for that.

When historians look back at these conflicts, they look deeper into the roles of the various players, internal and external political pressures which contribute to the conflict. Zelensky inherited a very delicate situation and promised a peaceful end to the civil war - I don't think he handled it well. I can't say how much difference it would have made, none of us can if we're being honest, but he's done as much sabre rattling as anyone here and finds himself fighting off an invasion force.

I get what you are saying but like the Middle East and Africa I don’t think works. All it does is affect the poor more. The Russians will rinse society and their own people will suffer while the war rages on.

It’ll not be shown in Russia, they’ve already said they’ve suffered NO casualties ! The majority of Russians are so shit scared of Putin they’ll just bury their heads. Only a few brave souls will protest and be immediately arrested and withdrawn from view

There's fck all else we can do. Batter them financially, economically and any other way we can.
