'Consequences you have never seen before in your history'.

This is why there will be no military action. Having seen his actions in the last 24 hours we can't afford to call his bluff.

Let him have everything then. If the West won’t act over anything because Putin will raise the stakes then again we may as well pack up and go home.

If Kennedy had done that though during the Cuban Missile crisis we would be living in a very different World

While I agree with the sentiment the reality is that Putin sees himself as the successor of Lenin and no amount of nice words will stop him. Mental.

Putin is a tyrant, a maniac and a dictator who cannot be removed by democratic means - he is 100% to blame for this and it's been his goal since the break up of the USSR - which is his Treaty of Versailles

So we're just going to turn a blind eye then ?
More or less, it’s the sensible thing to do. Thing is, Ukraine is a young nation, Russia has been at war with them for years but because it wasn’t a full scale invasion we hear little about it. During those years was the time to act if the west wanted to. Now it’s gone to a full scale invasion there’s outcry, if the west get involved now there would be carnage.

In essence, this is nothing but a skirmish between Russia and Ukraine, they’ve just got big guns to play with this time. What’s the worst that can happen when Ukraine falls, it goes back to where it was pre 2014 and the west start again with negotiations.

I don’t know where it is but there has to be a red line. I also don’t believe it would necessarily invoke a nuclear war
Russia have nothing to gain from a nuclear war. They rely solely on income from oil and gas and no one is buying any if countries are nuked to oblivion.

As much as I was 100% certain Putin would invade all of Ukraine, I don’t think he would go nuclear. What’s there to gain by it?

History has shown us time and time again that people like Putin won’t stop there.

Kinda doesn't have a choice.

Let's look at the neighbouring countries.

Belarus is pro-USSR
Azerbaijan is pro-USSR
Georgia is pro-USSR
Kazakhstan is pro-USSR
Ukraine is work in progress
Lithuania is NATO
Estonia is NATO
Latvia is NATO
Poland is NATO

Moldova is ... with nobody, they'll be next to but the border actually ends there.
