Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

It's a sobering thought when you consider that sanctions do fuck all to resolve this.
It's a way for the politically impotent to make it look lik ethey are doing something, when they really don't harm those they are targetted against.
Look at North Korea, Iraq pre-invastion, Iran - none of the top people in these countries are remotely bothered, any effects are felt by the man and woman at the bottom of the pile.

Belarus man, what a joke! What side are the Turks on? I’d imagine their geographical access to the Black Sea could be key nevermind their massive army that’s not too far away

This is the first post I’ve read from you on here where you haven’t been bemoaning your own bad luck & how everyone is so much better off than you, has so much more money & you’re the victim.

Funnily enough, your post is f***ing off people who need help because the country you live in needs trade. Fuck everyone else.

Weird that.

You do know that Russia abandoned Cuba in 1991 and that we have no reason to feel friendly towards them, right?

I am also a British citizen here and I am saying what I think is best for this country, which is not to go to war with Russia.

The dickhead in power now and his crew has done more to empower Putin and his acolytes
Two prongs of the same strategy: weaken the west by supporting its anti-establishment politicians (Corbyn, Brexit, Johnson, Trump, Farage, Salmond etc) and attack your neighbours while they're busy arguing amongst themselves. It was obvious what was happening and absolute morons swallowed it.

They're all utterly hopeless when it comes to dealing with Putin. Every single one of them are a puppet on a string, I've always said that. People might not like Putin but he's absolutely rock solid, no pissing about with him.
I agree, and share your views, but given how up to his neck our dear prime minister is, and his weakness over the last few days when it has come to sanctions, I think we can agree he could be compromised.

I agree. The west may huff and puff but Ukraine isn't worth starting WW3 over. If Russian forces put one foot in Poland, Hungary or the Baltic states then that would be totally different

Hard to see what the solution is about this apart from someone within the Russian oligopoly decapitating Putin from within.
Wow, what makes Ukraine less worthy of being protected from an invading army?

If the west does nothing then what does that say? How long til other regimes decide to send a "peacekeeping force" in to protect their supporters?

I may be wrong but personally i think we have a responsibility as citizens of the world to protect other peoples rights.
