Must admit I've had a drinkbut I will look again tomorrow. I apologise in advance if I've misread your post
I wanted Keane quite simply because I liked the football we played when here last time. I didn’t know Neil’s well enough but always thought he spoke well and I remember him lighting up Preston when we appointed the terrible Grayson. As soon as I saw the former fans heaping praise on him I thought it sounded a better option. Fingers crossed. Time will tell.Few things come to my mind (I’m not massively tactical minded so this are just general points mind)
He’s more like a head coach (Keane was a manager and I feel he would have butt heads massively with a DOF.
Players are a different breed now and it was a risk thinking Keane management style would work now as opposed to Neil who is a modern type with traditional values.
Keane was out for a long time, Neil hasn’t and we’ve got generally good feedback from fans from past teams.
Neil appears to be hands on and I think the current team needs that at the moment.
Finally I wanted Keane to come but I never saw past the short term. My feelings were that he would have boosted the team but it would have gone swiftly down hill eventually.
yea, let's not forget the 2 weeks prior to Neil's appointment, total shit show from our owner/owners, whoever they/he be,ineptitude on an industrial scaleHappy with the bloke we got, shear incompetence it took so long to hire him
whats a roy keane type-a workshy narcissistic hypocrite? There is absolutely nothing in those quotes.
He was nothing more than a PR stunt. There isn’t anything about the football club that would remotely attract a Roy Keane type.
The last thing we need is a winner like Roy.
He would have been great here and would have lifted the whole club.
His ‘spoilt brat’ shenanigans have destabilised the club. Unforgivable from someone who makes his living from football.
In his own words he wasn’t a good fit - likely because he would have been expected to actually coach rather than hand it over to his ‘team’ hence the money wasn’t there. He should have walked away immediately so we could have got on with the job of employing a real manager.
Does he mean money for players or money for him or both ?Well him telling us it was based on money has a bit of an impact no?
No worries. Just because I don't think he's a coward and a gobshite doesn't mean I adore him or have my tongue up his arse.
We don't all deal in extremities.

Or maybe as much as he thought he did 2 weeks ago..he clearly doesn’t want to try management again as much as he says he does
