Aye, that's my view of a lot of stories in the last couple of months.

It's been better this week but The Sun 'scoop' should be treasured as an example of the pure absurdity behind a lot of our media coverage.

I think that is the plan. Say that he has NATO on his doorstep so not unreasonable to put Russian troops on their doorstep.

Said this before... I'm no fan of Putin at all but his logic can be compelling.

In response to USA saying he was an aggressor - response of "you are the guys deploying your troops in Estonia etc. Where are there Russian troops on the USA border?"

In response to "we don't want the first conflict in Europe since WW2" he said "you bombed Belgrade with cruise missiles & stealth bombers & accidentally blitzed the Chinese embassy".

I'd be very surprised if that was an accident, the chinese were helping the serbs recover a shot down F117 fighter bomber

I bet drones go for something really bland like a soggy Rich Tea dunked in a mug of Asda Yellow Label.

The pilots, meanwhile, are living it up on chocolate Hob Nobs and a piping hot mug of Marksies finest leaf tea, having tag teamed their shifts between Call of Duty sessions.

Isn't the smoke coming from a chimney? As the smoke straightens up you can see what looks like an upright pipe looking a bit sooty at the top.
