Jofra Archer

Mumbai Indians forked out £750k on him, knowing he can't play IPL this year - what's that all about ?
It's a multi year contract so they get him next season. Sure they won't pay him all/anything this year if he isn't fit enough to take up the contract. On the other hand, if they pay him £1.5m over two years that might be what they'd have had to pay him anyway if he'd been fit.

Not the worst decision but hugely dissapointing, a summer and winter of 1 day stuff with a view to tests next summer if no adverse reaction for me

not played a test in 2 years and struggling to bowl 4 overs in the IPL, too much of risk for the Ashes, especially if Wood can be the express pace option,

I’d rather he was fully fit for the World Cup rather than the ashes, think we can manage without him in red ball
Agreed based on his performances outside of the 2019 Ashes we've got better.

I very much doubt he will be that version so pointless selecting him.

Depending on conditions then woakes is statistically our best bowler in England. But as Ben wants flat wickets then hard to say if he'd be any good.

Wood and Stone seem fit so would be looking to them as the express pace option if that's what Ben wants in the side.

Guess Ben own fitness is a concern too as we'd be a bowler light if he's knackered and his only real replacement is Woakes if we wish to keep 5 bowlers and someone who can bat. Assuming we play Robinson Broad Leach Anderson.
