Realistically what is the latest time they can announce Neil if he’s going to be in charge tomorrow?

He’d have to travel down with the squad for starters. Surely got to be midday today?

Hi everyone,

I was hoping yesterday was a nightmare, sadly not. It’s not unfair or inaccurate to state the club is in an utter mess.

1 The club could not convince RK to come, Keane has looked, listened and said no thanks, can you blame him!
2 Transfer deadline signed more wingers instead of bringing in cover at CH and CF.Schoolboy error in allowing Flanagan to leave before getting a replacement. Please don’t tell me Roberts and Clarke are cover for Stewart, they aren’t, Defoe had played 8 mins of football.
3 The clap trap about Long term Plan, Process, Data Driven is corporate speke, the sacking of LJ makes a mockery of what has been previously said.
4 KS ex U23’s at Birmingham is our DOF the largest club outside PL, out of his depth, who else did we interview for such an important position? Data Driven my arse.
5 Club aren’t prepared to tell its supporters the shareholding status in the club. Maddox ie SD CM still to pay back the parachute money they used to buy the club.
6 Neill could only given to the end of the season, so they aren’t totally convinced then!
7 The pitch is a disgrace, biggest club in the league and we have probably the worst playing surface.

We deserve so so much better, I have never ever felt so deflated in a club that I live and die for. The club is going to lose a vast amount of its supporters and possibly forever.

STID
Its an 18month deal

You have went from supposedly ITK to listing a load of stuff people already knew.
ITK, just forwarded what I was reliably told via a very reliable source the same one who told me about LJ. The information I received and subsequently posted was 100% accurate, Keane was offered the job and as I said the job was his if he wanted it… He didn’t I wonder why!

Totally agree with this. However, I would add that there is a chance that, like the fans, KLD/Speakman has gone with their heart rather than their head in chasing Keane. Keane was always a massive risk as we saw with how he walked out last time after an awful home defeat. If the club had appointed Neil last week and taken all the flack for turning Keane down there would have been outrage but it possibly would have been more sensible.
Agree. However not having KLD liking social media posts about Keane returning would help too…

The Speakman interview 30 mins before the match. They brought that damp squib interview on themselves.

And Dodds as interim? No fault of his own, but he clearly didn’t want it or was able to do it. To leave us in a position where he was a necessity for those 2 games killing off any automatic hopes we had and leaving us now in a real battle even just to make the play offs.

I’m ok with Neil, however there’s no doubt they could have handled things much better

This isn’t on the fans

Nailed it fella.

If we go into the game tomorrow with no manager again it'll be another thing to add to that list

Hi, thanks for the advice, I forwarded in good faith,as I did with LJ sacking, Keane sadly didn’t accept the job.
It's not advice, Steve, it's merely musing. As I mentioned to another poster, it's often a question of words. I think that perhaps you jumped the gun, albeit in good faith. But let's not dwell on the past too much. Whoever is appointed (although it seems to be Alex Neil, I'm not making any assumptions until I see the time-honoured 'scarf Polaroid'), let's get behind him (or her!). A mammoth task lies awaiting....
