New Music Releases Thread

Yes, saw him in Newcastle on a Sunday evening. Just him and a string quartet. Songs from new album and then some Blur classics to finish. Enjoyed it a lot and he was very engaging.
As the album has an Icelandic connection that will be sound

Cheers, I knew he had an Icelandic connection (I think he is now an Icelandic citizen and album is about that I think)

Really looking forward to it. Saw Blur back in the 90s, but I saw them in the same week as I saw Pulp, who were so good they blew everything else away

Anyone seen Damon Albarn on this new tour "Nearer the Fountain, The More Pure the Stream Flows"?

I've got tickets for the Harpa gig in Reykjavik next month - album any good?
Yes, I saw him in Newcastle. It was fantastic. One of the best gigs for ages. Just him and a string quartet, who were brilliant. It was funny seeing him make mistakes on the piano and then seeing the string players realise and go with him - they were top musicians. A really enjoyable night.

Cheers, really looking forward to it. I haven't followed his solo stuff that much- I'm in Iceland for the first week in March and booked it on the spur of the moment (an expensive spur of the moment)

Romance new album out on band camp:

Described as:

Romance pen an extended love note to Celine Dion, re-imagining the Canadian icon's cultural locked grooves as a set of post-vaporwave crybient zoners that are part OPN's timeless "Eccojams", part "Disintegration Loops” Basinski and part Malibu/DJ Lostboi on ice

Big Thief is a bit of a slog so far
I've just listened to the first half and I'm done with it for today. An hour and twenty minutes is long, and I don't think it flows very well as an album. I'll revisit.

If anyone is in the market for "seven tracks ranging from balearic ambient to dream state melodies" (cheers Google), then get involved with the Hypernatural record. Very good. It's one half of Cut Copy and a couple of others.

Late to the party on this one too, but the Hard Feelings record is brilliant. If any of you enjoyed the Roisin Murphy record from the other year then you need to give this a go.

I was tempted to take up one of the spares kicking about but decided against it. Can't be arsed with the chew on of getting from Hackney to Wimbledon and back when I'm supposed to be going to a mates birthday piss up this evening.

Did you manage to nab a couple of tickets?

Aye - got two sorted through the ref. Proper random one

Chew on of Hackney to Wimbledon as well, Haway man! We’re en route from Romford via about 6 different means of transport with no TFL rail running.
