You’ll know better than me what’s going on at Preston but that does seem strange, obviously the devil is in the detail but if he does join us I’d of thought he was only due the difference between his contracted Preston salary and his contracted Sunderland salary
My guess would’ve been that we’d stop paying him if he got a new job before his original contract ran out - which is a lot more common with clubs and managers than you think. But our local reporter is saying we’re paying him til June regardless of a new job. We’re paying for 3 managers currently, 2 ex and our current.

If Neil had been appointed the day after Johnson was sacked the atmosphere around the club would have been acceptable.

The onwership and leadership have created a toxic atmosphere with the way they have behaved over the past couple of weeks.

Speakman needs to go tonight and if KLD cant or wont invest he needs to put the club up for sale. If not we will become a Portsmouth or worse.

Im sick of hearing 'sustainability'. The club has infastructure that cant be sustained in Div 3. We either have owners who can invest to get out of this horrible league or they need to sell up, The club is dieing by a thousand cuts.
👏👏👏Their antics over the last two weeks, that disgusting interview while automatic promotion became almost impossible and the Keane saga have destroyed good will and left huge question marks over the leadership of this club. Not prepared to spend any money at all on this shambles of a club. This is their doing through utter incompetence.

Far too simplistic view, he was at Preston for 4 years who had no money and were never going to reach the top 6.

It's like calling Sean dyche for only qualifying for Europe at Burnley once. I'm not saying he's a fantastic appointment, but he's a damn sight better than mccann.

Why did no other club go in for him whilst he was at PNE if he was being clearly held back by the size of the club?

Can someone please just reiterate again that Preston North end is not Sunderland AFC. what he did there is of no relevance whatsoever to what he is about to walk into.

As we know if we have 10 minutes of poor football the manager and players are hounded. will he cope with this? Lose 1 game and this board for example will go up in flames.

He is totally untested at a big club. a complete novice.

That’s just a load of arrogant bullshit

Haway man Preston are a club with a proud history and have been a solid Championship (second division) club for most of my lifetime. We've yo yo-ed ourselves so are only marginally better. There are clubs in our league that are small fry but they are a league higher, finished quite high up under Neil and did well and it's disrespectful to scoff at them. When Grayson joined us from them we went down while Neil made them a force.
