Speakman is a bit of a wanker who hasn't really done anything at SAFC or Birmingham

In fairness, as a fan from the outside it is so hard to judge people like DoFs, CEOs, sporting directors, etc., as we aren’t privy to enough information. I remember a lot of people within the game talking him up when we got him, and Birmingham being quite gutted, so I’m a bit confused on this oneGot a few mates in the game. Couple at as high a level as you get. Both had very good things to say about Speakman so was buzzing when he signed.
Personally not seeing it as it stands.
That interview was a disgrace, he thinks it makes him look all brilliant with his interview ‘process’ it’s actually frightening our prospects lie in these peoples handsFunny as fuck like. Being thorough.
16 games left slipping out of the playoffs. Take your time Speakman lad. Probably signed Keane up on Wednesday but Keane has to pass his Microsoft Office access course before he's allowed to manage the team.
If that's true, then I think he's an idiot for not wanting Keane. If it's not true, and he actually wants Keane, then I think he's an idiot for giving that interview. He doesn't come away from it looking good from any perspective. So unnecessary.Nailed on he wants different to the ownership.
Imagine sacking a manager a week ago then thinking it's a good idea to come out and say you're sorting out the shortlist. That interview was a disgrace, he thinks it makes him look all brilliant with his interview ‘process’ it’s actually frightening our prospects lie in these peoples hands
That's my issue with the whole system tbh. I see the point in it, I quite like it, but if we do shit, whose fault is it? Is the coach not getting enough from them or is the recruitment poor? At least with an old school manager they're to praise or blame for both. For me, it's a longer term role but that doesn't mean it's unaccountable. You change a coach, fine. If you need to change a second time having been involved in their appointment then the finger is pointing at youIn fairness, as a fan from the outside it is so hard to judge people like DoFs, CEOs, sporting directors, etc., as we aren’t privy to enough information. Especially after Keane basically confirmed they’re in the last leg of contract talks. He’s trying to pour cold water on an inferno.Imagine sacking a manager a week ago then thinking it's a good idea to come out and say you're sorting out the shortlist.![]()
'Thought I'd just pop up' suggests to me it's off his own back.If that's true, then I think he's an idiot for not wanting Keane. Speakman is making his own job even harder for himself if he somehow manages to veto on Keane and get McCann in.Especially after Keane basically confirmed they’re in the last leg of contract talks. He’s trying to pour cold water on an inferno.
If he can’t get on board, he can go the journey:

Embarrassed by MaguireI wonder who got rid of LJ and signed Defoe. Right now I’m inclined to think KLD. Embarrassed by Maguire and then Bolton…:seen too much to let us go on.
I know it’s not the job they were brought in for but those utter incompetents who put that side out today are his men.
Don’t want to ditch the whole approach but if It’s Speakman or Keane get Hey Jude blasting and the P45 ready:
Utterly ridiculous. Obviously in response to Keane going public yesterday, he knows we want him and he wants to come back…some little clip board swot better not wreck it.'Thought I'd just pop up' suggests to me it's off his own back.
KLD cant be happy then with that kind of power play.'Thought I'd just pop up' suggests to me it's off his own back.
I’m not so sure. I think he’s given LJ a squad that should be capable of automatic promotion from this league. I’m less convinced about the January transfers but we’ve got to give them a chance first. But being 14 points effectively behind Wigan isn’t acceptable at all with this squad.Wasn't a dof/sporting director though at Birmingham. Seems to be prioritising youth (other clubs youth) over consistency/experience and hampering our form as a result. All good if we own the player but not if we don't.
Think he's been pretty honest with his remit here and is falling way short as it stands.
I can just imagine Speakman having a spreadsheet with “Manager attributes” down the rows with points scores and a total at the bottom. Last row being “threat to my job” and Keane scoring 1000 pointsImagine sacking a manager a week ago then thinking it's a good idea to come out and say you're sorting out the shortlist.![]()
I mean Chris Maguire came to the SoL and utterly embarrassed SAFC and Johnson in particular.Embarrassed by Maguire
What do you mean?
