Speakman

Got a few mates in the game. Couple at as high a level as you get. Both had very good things to say about Speakman so was buzzing when he signed.

Personally not seeing it as it stands.
In fairness, as a fan from the outside it is so hard to judge people like DoFs, CEOs, sporting directors, etc., as we aren’t privy to enough information. I remember a lot of people within the game talking him up when we got him, and Birmingham being quite gutted, so I’m a bit confused on this one

The interview was pathetic. If they're still drawing up a f***ing short list then the whole point of sacking a coach so we can aim for automatic promotion has been negated by taking so long we're fucked before they do it. It wasn't a quick sacking, they'll have known it was coming, if they haven't planned then it's a dereliction of duty. The fans have said who they want. Get him in. Unless maybe speakman is worried that someone else might think he's a gobshite. I actually have a bit of time for speakman, but this could be a major misstep

Funny as fuck like. Being thorough.

16 games left slipping out of the playoffs. Take your time Speakman lad. Probably signed Keane up on Wednesday but Keane has to pass his Microsoft Office access course before he's allowed to manage the team.
That interview was a disgrace, he thinks it makes him look all brilliant with his interview ‘process’ it’s actually frightening our prospects lie in these peoples hands

“we are all calm about the situation” - after seeing that I bet they aren’t as calm about Dodds and Procter taking any more games

Originally I thought he was just playing it down but my god after today's result. We need to stop pissing around

That's my issue with the whole system tbh. I see the point in it, I quite like it, but if we do shit, whose fault is it? Is the coach not getting enough from them or is the recruitment poor? At least with an old school manager they're to praise or blame for both. For me, it's a longer term role but that doesn't mean it's unaccountable. You change a coach, fine. If you need to change a second time having been involved in their appointment then the finger is pointing at you

Imagine sacking a manager a week ago then thinking it's a good idea to come out and say you're sorting out the shortlist.
Especially after Keane basically confirmed they’re in the last leg of contract talks. He’s trying to pour cold water on an inferno.

If he can’t get on board, he can go the journey:

If that's true, then I think he's an idiot for not wanting Keane. If it's not true, and he actually wants Keane, then I think he's an idiot for giving that interview. He doesn't come away from it looking good from any perspective. So unnecessary.
'Thought I'd just pop up' suggests to me it's off his own back.

Speakman is making his own job even harder for himself if he somehow manages to veto on Keane and get McCann in.

The majority of the fanbase will be feeling flat as fuck, and McCann will have absolutely no room for poor performances from the minute he walks in. It would be instant pressure on Speakman.

Wasn't a dof/sporting director though at Birmingham. Seems to be prioritising youth (other clubs youth) over consistency/experience and hampering our form as a result. All good if we own the player but not if we don't.

Think he's been pretty honest with his remit here and is falling way short as it stands.

I wonder who got rid of LJ and signed Defoe. Right now I’m inclined to think KLD. Embarrassed by Maguire and then Bolton…:seen too much to let us go on.

I know it’s not the job they were brought in for but those utter incompetents who put that side out today are his men.

Don’t want to ditch the whole approach but if It’s Speakman or Keane get Hey Jude blasting and the P45 ready:
Embarrassed by Maguire

What do you mean?

Utterly ridiculous. Obviously in response to Keane going public yesterday, he knows we want him and he wants to come back…some little clip board swot better not wreck it.

😂😂 are they about to move into that ‘next phase’ did he say
The subtle hint his mate Dodds will be in on Tuesday ‘we trust the staff that are already here’
Boro sacked warnock officially on the Saturday wilder was in the next day it’s called ruthless forward planning something this lot bleat on about they do
Full of crap the whole club is for me

I’m not so sure. I think he’s given LJ a squad that should be capable of automatic promotion from this league. I’m less convinced about the January transfers but we’ve got to give them a chance first. But being 14 points effectively behind Wigan isn’t acceptable at all with this squad.
