Tell you what mind all the folks who filled the usually empty seats around us must love a supp seeing as they all get up and wandered off en mass at about 30 minutes!! 😂

You’re wasting your time here mate. Last year the cry was “Anyone but Burge.” He was the sole reason we didn’t get promoted last year. This year it’s Gooch. Once this board latches on to a player they won’t let go.
Anyone but Burge turned out to be Hoffmann and he looks shaken at best. Gooch is not our issue. The inability to organize a solid defending side is.

Absolutely. Last year we'd have been promoted with any keeper other than Burge. Earlier this season I said there was little difference and many wouldn't have it and Hoffmann was different level, turns out he's probably not at the moment.

Same with Gooch. Yet at the same time people will bemoan a lack of pace, work rate and strength and ignore others not showing for the ball as much.

I admit today was my first match for a number of weeks, but I cant see how we are still top 6 on todays showing...Nervous,timid,no vociferous leadership whatsoever, against a side who, lets face it,arent Real Madrid. Our defending is woeful and I hate to say it,but a good side would have scored a hatful against us today. The only slight glimmers of hope,Clarke looked good on his introduction and new midfielder looked comfortable playing in front of a big crowd, unlike many of his team-mates.......

Likewise. Various circumstances prevent me from going more.
What I saw today was a group of leaderless brittle kids doing their best against typically earnest and physical L1 opponents.
If these are the type of players recruited by Speakman then Roy Keane must demand more or full say on player signings before agreeing to any contract here.
That might go against the club’s current “football philosophy“ but by god it’s the only way SAFC will scramble out of this division.
So in my mind it’s either Speakman’s way or Keane’s way - not both.
If Keane demands that Keane won't be offered the job, simples.

I think it’s obvious now that we’re just a team of nice footballers with no heart.
Let them play and they’ll turn you over but get in amongst them and make things difficult and they can crumble.
Also if anyone can tell me what our formation was today I’d appreciated it was it a 3 at the back or a 4?
It looked neither to me more a fuckin 2.

Can you blame them?

He did today. 100%. Actively put himself in positions to not receive the ball, not turning round when the keeper was looking for an out ball. Numerous times. Coward today.

😀😀😀😀

Probably saw as much of the ball as anyone barring the two centre halves.

Made some daft choices, put in 3 or 4 decent crosses, fluffed a few decent chances to put crosses in - couple of brain farts too, didn't hide.

When I said Burge was the sole reason we didn’t go up I was being sarcastic. He was more than good enough last year. I’d take Burge over Hoffmann any day.

i've had the same seat since the stadium opened but always sat in the one next to it. a lad came along today and was ok with us swapping. he naffed off to the navy club just after the 2nd half started. nothing to do with e what anyone does but it seems a bit daft.
