Mind they said they couldn't agree anything with other clubs anyway.He made it pretty clear he didn't want to go there permanently, hence the reason a loan was their only option. If West Ham were interested (which by all accounts they were), there'd be absolutely no incentive for him to choose the mags over them - they couldn't even offer him piles of blood money since it's a loan and his wage couldn't be increased from his current one.
Maybe he really, really wanted to stare at that bridge, though.
