Still 8/1 in the betting I reckon if there had been any concrete moves for him the betting companies would have had a a whiff of it

40k on the gate combined with Defoe on Saturday, a good win and we'll be flying.

We need a lift. 90 percent of the other names mentioned would not give us that.

Having JD there as a senior experienced professional (as like he had with Yorke previously) who does things in the right way with minimal ego would appeal to him.

I think many of the younger players would relish the chance to work with him (and wouldn't fear as many people think) - majority of the players in 06/07 loved working with him on the training ground.

I think he would respect KLD's ambition and knowledge of the game, unlike some chairmen with 0 links or care for the sport. As I said yesterday, he sussed Short and his intentions from day 1.

Bring him home. If it doesn't work out it doesn't work but I think we have a hell of a better chance of promotion than by appointing a Mccann or Neil.

2nd spot is there for the taking. Even if we ended up in the play offs, Keane would be the sort of leader of men you'd want to tackle it.
