They are both minor figures on the world so you are losing nothing from ignoring them but I think Peterson is far different. His stance comes from decades of academic study and work as a clinical psychologist. There is plenty in his work to make you think about stuff. Rogan just seems to be good at talking to people
The thing about his work, and especially the stuff he does that appeals to right wing incels, is that his skill is very much in understanding the psychology of credulous knobheads and what they feed off. His ideas themselves don't compare well to other psychologists, because they actually go out and test their theories in the area they're speaking to, such as the workplace and how the different genders perform etc. He's not interested in testing those theories, the only actual theory he's testing is the theory that what he writes or says next will generate millions of views from internet trolls and potential school shooters.
Rogan is clearly good at podcasting and interviewing, the actual objection is that he is using his platform to spread Covid conspiracy theories, anti tax lies and misinformation. Leaving that part out of the analysis is rather like if someone were on trial for stealing a car and people only discussed how well the defendant drove it.
