When the penny finally drops and they realise no one decent wants to come and play for them, they'll start panic buying and overspending on mediocre players.
The new players they sign will be expected to make an instant difference, but would have had no time at all to gel together as a team.

You've also hit the nail on the head. If we were doing the same as the great unwashed he'd be flitting between the two. To him, a 'big story' is a 'big story' but I think he forgets that the north east is very similar as the old firm and forgets that if you completely favour one side then you lose the other side forever.

Hence why I brought Andy into it cos he knows that. For example, I know it probably won't happen but if the mags takeover turned into a disaster and KLD has us in the top 10 of the PL in the coming years, keith would then favour Sunderland stories. But one thing my dad taught me as a Sunderland fan is that Sunderland fans don't forget, and let's be honest my old fella is right.

Andy, who I'm still good pals with is the same in media but he normally reports and writes articles about big Scotland rugby games at murrayfield and things like the Olympics, but football is still his main love, I think that's not just about his ability but he's too one sided to cover footy (bit like a poor man's kris boyd if you like) cos he's the same as him and doesn't hide the fact he despises Celtic and refers to them all as 'bumble bees' 😂....because of those away Celtic tops that used to have like hiviz/bright green and black hoops on the old away tops.

Its not just in football tbh look at Boxing and that Jake Paul numpty.

Just a troll but generates clicks and comments online. His PPV numbers were shit but he's still lining up the next fight.

All because it gathers attention online. Got proper Boxers trained there arse off and took punishment all there life then this idiot comes along.

This is the worst take I've seen in a long time. I can only assume it's posted to appease the Sunderland fans.

Trippier was playing for the team that won la Liga. He was in the Spanish ToTY. He has just started a Euro final in which he bagged an assist. He is English and that also brings a premium.

At 25m, it's a very good deal.

Just seems like a get anyone in approach. let's be honest here he's not coming to you for your club even though he'll say that in the initial interview. fan base, passion etc which they are pretty much given a script to read out. it's purely a big final pay day. he's primarly an attacking full back which isn't going to help your defensive issues.

He's very well rounded as far as full backs go, you don't play for the teams in the big occasions if you can't defend. There is a reason Southgate took him and not TAA.

Every single player moves to every club for the money. Do you think your better players moved to Sunderland for the theatre?

I also don't know how you can say that bit in bold. Howe signed Trippier for Burnley. He knows the player. He plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's hardly a sign anyone approach.
