Totally this. I don't like him but we'd be in a worse place if we didn't have him to call on through these injuries. I wouldn't offer him a new contract because I'm hoping we'll improve in the summer and naturally that should mean that the squad players are edged out. But for now he's better than nowt.
 
He’s what we need in L1, like the lad but sometimes he hangs onto the ball far too long and believes he is Messi.
where he plays currently he has to keep it simple and it’s working well to be fair to the lad he’s a lot better recently and I was a critic of him.
He’s got a good attitude and always grafts, just needs to understand passing it sometimes is a better option if it’s on.

he really was,never stopped all game,and even tho he gave the ball away on a few occasions he was the one who got us up the pitch without resorting to hoofing it,deffo played well yesterday

I thought that was his problem earlier in the season. You could see he was itching for a goal and seemed to be trying too hard. There's nothing wrong with being up for it and having a crack at goal, but sometimes it can be to the detriment of the team if others are in a better position.

Miles better than when he’s on the right! He can’t seem to beat the man on the right hand side.

his best attacking output came in the Parky / No Geads era when he had the left hand side to himself.
 
Don't be too critical of the OP, Gooch is playing way better now than he was when the thread was posted, even if it is against some of the poorer opposition in the division.

Plus if there's too much laughing at him he'll get it Parsnipped / deleted by one of the mods like he did the Lanky Jock thread.
 
Gooch had a few games where he underperformed but he's always been a very valuable asset to the squad and we'd have to sign a lot of players to push him out of the starting team.

He's added a new dimension to our attack from LB/LWB. He could be caught defensively at times as he's not a natural in the position but if our setup is good, we'll hopefully offer him protection when he is there. Cirkin is back now, so maybe we'll see Gooch move to RB/RW now.

His assists must be through the roof though.Even in the last few games i can think of yesterdays pritchy,first two against morecambe,one for RS and onto Broadheads nut ,which was game over.Cambridge away great ball into Broadhead to smash inthe net.Plays all over for us ,wherever he is needed .As the squad stands now he is one of the first names on team sheet.

End product ? He literally created the last goal yesterday haha. Honest man some of the pap on here is crazy and people fully believe there own pap. His goal return this season has been poor I just read, the lads played left back for crying out loud.
