I remember my mate raving about him stealing him from us. I told him he's having a good spell. Come back to me in 3 months though. Funnily enough, I've not heard from him since£60k a week at the mags![]()

Understand what you're saying mate but there is no loyalty in football from the players or the clubs. The club releases loads of kids who have been there since a young age every year.He stitched the club up somewhat (having been coached and developed from being a small bairn) by running down his contract and joining our nearest rivals who were also competing at a similar level to us at that point. Whether it was greed or not, it was a bit of a shit move. Club has to take a bit of responsibility too.
Thought he just left to join the club he supported as a kid.He wasnt after money?
I think it was as much psychology as anything. When he wanted to, he'd play really well. Unfortunately this was for a month or two at a time, spaced six months apart.Actually thought Colback would kick on and become a decent Prem midfielder. What happened serves him right the greedy get. Club handled it all badly though letting him run contract down.
Not cos of that but clearly they promised him a big deal if he ran his contract down so they could get him on a free. Ended up on miles more than he was worth. Maybe not greedy OK but him playing the big “I’m a massive Mag” card when months before he scored for us in the derby then ripped the piss out of them. How was he greedy. He left to join the club he supported as a kid. Don't get this every player who dares to leave us are greedy and chasing money.

He signed a contract, fulfilled it and then left.

Aye I remember reading that too....And he wanted to leave them for more money to sign for West Ham??? but it was too late, he had already put his paw print on the contract with the skunks
I love how reflecting on this thread some are laughing at us signing Colback. At least we never said he was better than henderson FFS![]()
You signed him when he was in clear decline and then went on to name him the ginger Pirlo, you ridiculous knacker.I love how reflecting on this thread some are laughing at us signing Colback. At least we never said he was better than henderson FFS![]()
I don’t think he’s your mate if you haven’t spoken in 7 yearI remember my mate raving about him stealing him from us. I told him he's having a good spell. Come back to me in 3 months though. Funnily enough, I've not heard from him since
Brooking was a master of the art. He nivver seemed to actually have the ball. He was slow but would drift past players without touching the ball, seemingly convincing them he was gonna pass it and they’d stick out a foot to intercept the pass on one side while the ball and Brooking trundled past seemingly separately.Yes exactly. An extra yard gained instantly. Watch Neil closely, he does it even when under pressure to wiggle out of potentially dangerous situations in his own half.
Yes, they both did too. Bracewell when the ball was moving sidewaysbut he still did it. Buying space.
and initially he was their dead-ball specialistYou signed him when he was in clear decline and then went on to name him the ginger Pirlo, you ridiculous knacker.
oh aye, I had a look like.I was scrolling through worried I'd see I'd posted.
I’ve nivver blamed him. Though I did at the time blame the club for allowing it to happen when everyone in the NE knew what was gonna happen. I’ve since been told that SAFC knew it anarl but there was nowt they could do, which when you think about it is true. How was he greedy. He left to join the club he supported as a kid. Don't get this every player who dares to leave us are greedy and chasing money.
Some of us didn’t and some of you did.I love how reflecting on this thread some are laughing at us signing Colback. At least we never said he was better than henderson FFS![]()
This is true. And he wanted to leave them for more money to sign for West Ham??? but it was too late, he had already put his paw print on the contract with the skunks
That was an Adrian Durham "joke" that got well out of handI do remember a bit of talk about the ginger Pirlo however…
That was an Adrian Durham "joke" that got well out of hand
I cringed when someone asked Woy about it in a press conference and he went along with it
He just seemed to appear the wrong side of 50 and has been aging ever since.Has Hodgson always been old?
